The San Fernando City Council has opened a call for grants totaling 150,000 euros to support entrepreneurship and the modernization of the municipality’s business fabric. The order, approved by Mayor-Presidency Decree on August 3, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz number 164, dated August 26, 2026, under announcement No. 266,852 and reference BDNS 924324.
The grants are awarded on a competitive basis, until the available credit is exhausted, and are financed by the current municipal budget for the 2026 fiscal year. The objective is to facilitate the implementation of new economic activities and the expansion or modernization of existing ones in the municipality, promoting the creation of a diverse business fabric that generates quality employment.
Two lines of aid
The call is structured into two lines of 75,000 euros each, with maximum amounts differentiated according to the applicant’s profile:
- Line 1 – Current expenditure (consumable materials, professional services, advertising, rents, utilities, insurance, non-inventoriable software). Only for entrepreneurs.
- Line 2 – Non-current expenditure (premises works and improvements, furniture, IT equipment, machinery, web design, and inventoriable software). For entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurs.
The final amount of the aid will be 80 percent of the correctly justified eligible expenses, excluding VAT, with a maximum of 2,000 euros per line. Thus, the cap amounts to 4,000 euros per applicant if they are an entrepreneur and 2,000 euros if they are not.
Who can apply
Self-employed workers and SMEs, regardless of their legal form, as well as communities of assets and other economic units without legal personality, may apply for these grants. Two profiles are distinguished:
- Entrepreneurs: those who have started their first economic or professional activity after April 9, 2025, and who justify expenses and investments for its launch. They may apply for both lines.
- Non-entrepreneur self-employed and SMEs: those who started their activity before April 10, 2025, and intend to develop modernization or expansion projects. They may only apply for Line 2.
In all cases, it is required to be up to date with tax and Social Security obligations, to have no debts with the City Council, to carry out the activity in San Fernando, and to provide at least 20 percent of the expenses with own funds.
Deadline and submission
Applications must be submitted electronically through the electronic office of the San Fernando City Council, within a period of one month starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz. The evaluation will be carried out based on criteria such as entrepreneur status, the creation of permanent employment, and the hiring of women or people with disabilities.
The call, signed by the head of the Economic Development Area, Mª Milagros Abascal Torres, and the mayor-president, Patricia Cabada Montañés, represents a new boost to the productive fabric of San Fernando, which seeks to consolidate a diverse business ecosystem that generates quality employment in the municipality.
