San Bartolomé de Tirajana convoca 396.150 euros en subvenciones deportivas

The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has approved the call for grants under a competitive bidding process aimed at sports clubs and individual athletes of the municipality, with a total allocation of 396,150.00 euros charged to the 2026 fiscal year. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, number 108, dated September 9, 2026, page 15744, with registration number 1846875 and announcement 2,958.

The decision stems from the Councilor for the Sports Area, who, through resolution number 5944/2026, dated August 31, 2026, approved the terms of the call and the requirements to cover the expenses of the entities and athletes of the municipality. The full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database (BDNS), with identifier 928012.

Allocation and Grant Lines

The economic allocation is attributed to two lines of the expenditure statement of the current budget of the Department of Sports:

  • Grants for sports clubs (item 3410 4890700): 356,150.00 euros.
  • Individual athletes (item 3410 4890700): 40,000.00 euros.

The purpose of the aid is to cover the expenses of sports entities and individual athletes, in accordance with the principles of efficacy, efficiency, publicity, transparency, competition, objectivity, equality, and non-discrimination. Travel expenses for non-official competitions are excluded from the call.

Beneficiaries and Requirements

The following may be recipients of the contributions:

  • Non-profit sports entities and associations with a registered office in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, registered in the Registry of Sports Entities of the Canary Islands, managed by the General Directorate of Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands.
  • Athletes who participate in official competitions as individuals and are registered as residents in the municipality.

Entities involved in refund or justification proceedings for previous grants, those that do not accept the terms, those that develop sports school projects for minors under 18 in collaboration with the City Council, and clubs already in a program subsidized by the Corporation may not apply.

Deadlines and Processing

Applications shall be submitted to the General Entry Registry of the City Council or through the means provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, within a period of twenty calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the call in the official gazette. The processing is the responsibility of a selection committee composed of three technicians from the Sports Area, and the maximum period to resolve and notify may not exceed six months from the publication.

The call for applications is governed by Annex VIII of the Regulatory Ordinance for Subsidies of the City Council, approved in the plenary session of February 25, 2005, and published in BOP number 36 of March 18, 2005, as well as by Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, Royal Decree 887/2006, and the current Execution Bases of the General Budget for 2026. The announcement is signed by the Delegated Councilor for the Government Area of Sports, Marcelino Ramón Suárez Ojeda, and the Head of the Sports Area, Francisco Javier Naranjo Sánchez.

Evaluation criteria

The amount of the contribution is determined by the product of several factors. For clubs, the project and action plan, the number of teams and the scope of competition, federated licenses, and trips to championships are evaluated; for individual athletes, the project, the type of championship (international, national, Canary Islands, or insular), and travel expenses are scored.

The call reinforces municipal support for the local sporting fabric, allowing clubs and individual athletes from the municipality to finance their activities and official competitions during the 2026 fiscal year, within a context of commitment to grassroots sports and the competitive projection of the Town.
