San Bartolomé de Tirajana convoca 396.150 euros en subvenciones deportivas

The Illustrious City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, number 108, dated September 9, 2026, the call for grants under a competitive process aimed at sports clubs and individual athletes of the municipality, corresponding to the year 2026. The call, identified in the National Grants Database with the code BDNS 928012, was approved by the Councilor for the Sports Area through resolution number 5944/2026, dated August 31, 2026.

The economic allocation amounts to 396,150.00 euros, charged to the grant lines of the Department of Sports in the current budget. The procedure is governed by Annex VIII of the Regulatory Ordinance for Grants of the City Council, approved in the plenary session of February 25, 2005, and published in BOP number 36 of March 18, 2005, as well as by Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Grants, Royal Decree 887/2006 which approves its Regulation, and the Execution Bases of the General Budget for 2026.

Distribution of the economic allocation

The total amount is distributed between two grant lines of the Department of Sports’ expenditure statement:

  • Grants to sports clubs (item 3410 4890700): 356,150.00 euros.
  • Individual athletes (item 3410 4890700): 40,000.00 euros.

The purpose of the aid is to cover the expenses of sports entities and individual athletes, according to the criteria of efficacy, efficiency, publicity, transparency, competition, objectivity, equality, and non-discrimination. Eligible expenses will refer to the 2026 fiscal year and may cover action projects or plans and the normal operation of the entity, although travel to non-official competitions is excluded.

Who can apply

Beneficiaries may be non-profit sports entities and associations with a registered office in San Bartolomé de Tirajana that are registered in the Registry of Sports Entities of the Canary Islands, managed by the General Directorate of Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands. Athletes who participate in official competitions as individuals and are registered as residents in the municipality may also apply.

Excluded are entities involved in refund or justification proceedings for previous grants, those that do not accept the bases, those that develop a sports school project for minors under 18 in collaboration with the City Council, and clubs that already have a program subsidized by the Council.

Deadlines and evaluation criteria

Applications, using the standardized forms available at the Sports Offices and on the municipal website, shall be submitted to the General Entry Registry of the City Council within twenty calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the call in the BOP. The maximum period for resolution and notification may not exceed six months, and payment will be made prior to justification via bank transfer.

The amount will be determined by the product of several factors:

  • Sports clubs: evaluation of the project and action plan (from 1 to 1.50 points) and a scale based on the number of teams and competition scope, federated licenses, and trips to championships.
  • Individual athletes: evaluation of the project (from 0.8 to 1.50 points) and a scale according to the type of championship (international, Spanish, Canarian, or insular) and trips.

The call, signed by the Delegated Councilor of the Government Area of Sports, Marcelino Ramón Suárez Ojeda, and by the Head of the Sports Area, Francisco Javier Naranjo Sánchez, includes the application annexes, entity form, responsible declaration, and projected budget.

The publication of this call opens a window of opportunity for the sporting fabric of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, which will be able to finance its projects and official competitions charged to the 2026 municipal budget. Clubs and athletes registered in the municipality have twenty calendar days to formalize their applications and opt for a distribution that prioritizes the quality of the projects, the competitive level, and participation in higher-level championships.
