San Bartolomé opens the call for 2026 sports grants

The San Bartolomé de Lanzarote City Council has launched the call for Sports grants for the 2026 financial year, on a competitive basis, through Resolution 4856/2026, dated August 18. The summary is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 104, dated August 31, 2026, with identification BDNS 926807.

The call is processed under articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and is governed by the General Regulatory Bases for Sports Grants, published in the BOP of Las Palmas number 72, dated July 16, 2021. Beneficiaries and requirements

Legal entities and individuals who promote the practice, encouragement, and promotion of sports, under the principles of publicity, free competition, objectivity, transparency, equality, and non-discrimination, may apply for these grants. The target groups are:

  • Sports Schools
  • Sports Entities-Clubs
  • Individual Athletes

Applicants must prove compliance with the general requirements demanded by the regulations, participate in official-federated and/or public competitions, and not fall under the circumstances of article 13.2 of the General Grants Law. Additionally, they must meet the specific requirements of Annexes A, B, and C of the bases, regarding the eligible expenditure, weighting criteria, and distribution of the maximum available credit. Failure to comply with any of these requirements will result in the automatic dismissal of the application.

Deadlines and execution

The deadline for submitting applications is thirty business days (30), counted from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP of Las Palmas. The actions and activities subject to the grant must be executed between January and December of the 2026 financial year.

  • Maximum justification deadline: until March 31, 2027 (three months after the end of execution, in application of Base 10).
  • The grant will be compatible with other aid provided that 100% of the cost of the activity is not exceeded, avoiding over-financing.
  • Maximum deadline to resolve and notify: six (6) months from the day following the publication of the announcement.

Processing and notifications

Acts derived from the procedure will be notified by posting on the notice board of the San Bartolomé City Council, located at Plaza León y Castillo, s/n, or through the website www.sanbartolomé.es, under the Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. The resolution, signed by the mayor-president Isidro Pérez Martín, is dated August 27, 2026.

The call for applications represents an opportunity for the entire local sporting community of San Bartolomé de Lanzarote, which will be able to access public funding for its activities and competitions during 2026. With a deadline of thirty business days and a competitive bidding process, the City Council reinforces its commitment to grassroots and federated sports in the municipality.
