The Local Governing Board of the Salou City Council has approved the call for the granting of the XXIV October 30 Awards for Children’s and Youth Creativity 2026, which is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on September 8, 2026 (official reference CVE 2026-08313, pp. 1-3). The agreement was adopted in an ordinary session on August 13, 2026, and is based on the rules approved by the same Local Governing Board on May 17, 2018, which remain in force for the 2026 financial year.
The call, registered in the National Grants Database with identifier BDNS 927498, is published as an extract in accordance with Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Grants. The full text can be consulted on the grants information portal.
Recipients and modalities
All boys, girls, and young people from 6 years old (who have completed the first year of primary school during the 2025-2026 academic year) up to 21 years old may participate, provided they are enrolled in schools in Salou or are registered as residents of the municipality. Works can be submitted in four modalities:
- Plastic arts
- Photography
- Audiovisuals
- Literature
Selection is made by categories according to the grade completed during participation, from the initial primary cycle to baccalaureate and vocational training cycles.
Deadlines and submission
Works must be submitted to the Cultural Services Area of the Salou City Council within the established deadline. The deadline for submitting applications is 20 business days after the publication of the call in the BOPT. Participants in the literary section must send the work to the email address cultura@salou.cat, indicating only the title of the work and the pseudonym in the subject line, and the author’s personal data in the body of the message, without any annotation that allows the authorship to be identified.
Award endowments
Three prizes are established per modality and category, with endowments that vary according to the educational level:
- Categories A and B (primary): mountain bike for the first prize, inline skates or a scooter for the second, and a set of stories or painting materials for the third.
- Categories C and D (upper cycle and 1st-2nd ESO): tablet, smartwatch, and speakers for the first, second, and third prizes, respectively.
- Category E (3rd-4th ESO): economic vouchers redeemable at shops in the municipality for €300, €200, and €150.
- Category F (baccalaureate and vocational training cycles): economic vouchers for €400, €300, and €200.
Finalists will receive a diploma, the book containing the collection of winning works, and a participation gift. The jury, composed of competent persons in photography, plastic arts, letters, and audiovisuals, may declare a prize void or grant runners-up and special mentions without financial endowment.
Delivery of awards
The delivery and announcement of the awards will take place on a day in October 2026, on the date determined by the Cultural Services Area, through two public events at the Teatre Auditori de Salou: a first event for categories A, B, and C, and a second for categories D, E, and F. The call, signed by Mayor Pere Granados i Carrillo, consolidates one of the municipality’s most established initiatives for promoting artistic and literary creation, which reaches its twenty-fourth edition this year and offers young creators from Salou a way to showcase and reward their talent.
