Salobre modifica el IBI y el impuesto de vehículos de tracción mecánica.
Por FactBox Admin

The Plenary of the Salobre City Council provisionally approved, on 16 July 2026, the modification of the fiscal ordinances of the property tax (IBI) and the tax on mechanical traction vehicles. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete number 95, of 17 August 2026, and opens a period of 30 business days for residents to submit objections.
The processing is governed by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of 5 March, approving the consolidated text of the Law regulating Local Treasuries, which regulates the procedure for approving municipal fiscal ordinances. The announcement, signed by the mayor Francisco Martínez García in Salobre on 6 August 2026, has been published in the third section, Local Administration, of the provincial gazette, with announcement number 21.508.
A provisional agreement with an objection period
The agreement adopted by the Plenary is provisional in nature and will not enter into force automatically. During the public exhibition period, the file is made available to the public and to the interested parties referred to in Article 18 of the consolidated text, who may examine it and submit such claims as they deem appropriate.
- The objection period is 30 business days from the publication of the announcement.
- Claims are submitted to the City Council itself, in accordance with Article 18 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004.
- If no claims are submitted, the agreement shall be deemed definitively adopted without the need for a new plenary agreement, as provided in Article 17.3 of the aforementioned legal text.
Two municipally managed taxes
The modification affects two of the municipally managed taxes with the greatest direct impact on the residents of Salobre:
- The property tax (IBI), which taxes ownership of real estate and is calculated on the cadastral value.
- The tax on mechanical traction vehicles (IVTM), which taxes ownership of vehicles suitable for driving on public roads.
Both taxes are settled annually, so any change in their ordinances immediately translates into the amount of the bills paid by taxpayers. The modification provisionally approved by the Plenary must now pass the public exhibition procedure before the agreement can be considered definitive.
Deadlines and how to participate
Interested parties may consult the file and submit objections within 30 business days from the publication of the announcement in the official gazette. The announcement, registered under number 21.508, has been published on page 14 of issue number 95 of the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete, corresponding to Monday, 17 August 2026.
The modification of these two tax ordinances directly affects the tax bill of all residents of Salobre, both property owners and vehicle holders. Participation in the allegations procedure is the only way to influence the final content of the ordinances before their final approval, which will occur automatically if no claims are submitted.
