The Sallent de Gállego City Council has opened the call for grants for displaced students pursuing studies outside the Alto Gállego Region during the 2025-2026 academic year. The agreement was approved by the council’s Plenary on September 17, 2026, and its summary is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca number 187, dated Wednesday, September 30, 2026, with the official reference BOPH-2026-187007. The call has a budget allocation of 45,000 euros and a maximum grant amount of 1,800 euros.

Regulatory Framework and Purpose

The publication is carried out in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database under the identifier BDNS 932263.

The purpose is the granting, through a public call, of aid to students who have pursued their studies outside the town, when these cannot be carried out in the Alto Gállego Region, during the 2025-2026 academic year. The regulatory bases were approved by the Plenary of the Sallent de Gállego City Council on September 17, 2026.

Beneficiary Requirements

Students who meet the following conditions may be beneficiaries:

  • Both the applicant and their parents or guardians must be registered on the census (empadronados) in the town of Sallent de Gállego for at least two years as of the application deadline, with the effective residence of the parents or guardians.
  • To have been born in the year 2000 or later.
  • To have pursued official regulated post-compulsory studies in the 2025-2026 academic year aimed at obtaining an official or professional degree, outside the Alto Gállego Region, at a distance that forces residence outside the municipality.
  • To have applied for the aid in a timely and proper manner.
  • Neither the applicant nor their immediate family members may be subject to enforcement proceedings for debts contracted with the City Council, and they must be up to date with tax and Social Security obligations, except for those who prove they are emancipated.

Aid will not be granted to those who repeat a course. Only one grant will be awarded per beneficiary, except for students who combine their studies outside the town with high-level or high-performance sporting activities and meet all requirements.

Amounts and Scale

The City Council has an approved budget allocation of 45,000 euros for study aid and high-performance athletes. The maximum amount of the grant will be 1,800 euros, awarded according to the following scale:

  • Course of up to 3 months: 500 euros.
  • Course of 3 to 6 months: 700 euros.
  • Course of 1 academic year: 1,500 euros.

Students from large families or single-parent families will receive an additional grant of 300 euros, prorated according to the period of the course completed:

  • Course of up to 3 months: 100 euros.
  • Course of 3 to 6 months: 200 euros.
  • Course of 1 academic year: 300 euros.

If there are remaining funds in the budget, additional grants will be awarded. For those who do not reach the required percentage of credits to pass, a prorating will be applied based on the credits passed relative to those enrolled, with a maximum of two failed subjects, except in justified cases of force majeure. Additionally, for Undergraduate and Master’s students with exceptional academic performance, an additional grant of 100 euros per “sobresaliente” (outstanding) and 125 euros per “matrícula de honor” (honorary degree) will be granted.

Deadline and submission

The period for submitting applications will be from October 1 to 30. The summary of the call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca and the rules in the National Grants Database, the electronic office of the City Council, and the notice board. The document was signed in Sallent de Gállego on September 29, 2026, by the mayor, Jesús E. Gerico Urieta.

The call reaches the families of the municipality in a school year marked by the rising cost of accommodation and transport for young people who must study outside of Alto Gállego. With 45,000 euros available and a one-month deadline, registered students have until October 30 to formalize their application and opt for grants that can reach 1,800 euros, with supplements for large families or academic performance.
