Sahelices del Payuelo faces three appeals over the lottery of communal plots
Por FactBox Admin

The Neighborhood Council of Sahelices del Payuelo has summoned interested parties in three ordinary proceedings being conducted before the Court of First Instance, Contentious-Administrative Section, of León regarding the draw of lots or shares of communal lands. The edicts are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León number 193, dated October 9, 2026, pages 59, 60, and 61, with official references BOP-LE-2026-193030, BOP-LE-2026-193031, and BOP-LE-2026-193032. The three announcements are signed by the president of the entity, Héctor de Prado Castro, in Sahelices del Payuelo on October 1, 2026.
Three proceedings against the same local entity
The three appeals share the same defendant—the Neighborhood Council of Sahelices del Payuelo—and the same object: the draw of lots or shares of communal lands. They are, however, divided between two different judicial bodies:
The three plaintiffs are natural persons, and the three filings are directed against the agreement of the minor local entity regarding communal land use.
Summons and nine-day deadline
The edicts are issued in compliance with the court’s orders and in accordance with Article 49 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction. Through this channel, the Neighborhood Council informs all parties with an interest in the files that they may appear and enter the proceedings.
The summons is specified in the following terms:
- Appearance before the Court of First Instance, Contentious-Administrative Section, Court No. 2 (proceedings 205/2026 and 182/2026) and Court No. 1 (proceeding 180/2026).
- Judicial address: Avenida Ingeniero Sáenz de Miera, number 6, León.
- Deadline to enter the proceedings: nine days.
Those who do not appear within this period will see the proceedings continue without being notified of subsequent actions, according to the general regime of the jurisdictional law invoked in the announcements.
A minor local entity of the municipality of Valdepolo
The Neighborhood Council of Sahelices del Payuelo is a minor local entity of the municipality of Valdepolo, and its recent activity has left several traces in the provincial gazette. Among the published precedents are:
- The initial approval of its General Budget for 2026, agreed upon in the session of August 11, 2026, and made available to the public for fifteen days (BOP-LE-2026-179022, Bulletin no. 179, of September 18, 2026).
- The transfer to the Valdepolo City Council of sub-plot A of the urban property at calle Pajarón 5A, for its demolition and the widening of the road (BOP-LE-2026-177014, Bulletin no. 177, of September 16, 2026).
The three now-published notices are listed in the Local Administration section of the bulletin, under the Other Local Entities heading, and share the same issue number as the budget and account announcements of other neighborhood councils in the province.
Impact for the communal owners
The publication of the edicts opens the period for any communal owner or party interested in the distribution of lots or shares of communal lands in Sahelices del Payuelo to appear in the three proceedings and defend their position before the contentious-administrative jurisdiction. The outcome of these lawsuits will determine the allocation system for the entity’s communal resources and, consequently, the neighbors’ exploitation rights over the mountain and the properties under neighborhood ownership.
