What this means
The publication of a law in the official gazette is the moment when adopted amendments become publicly available and notified to the addressees. Since the act concerns the limitation of price increases for petroleum products, it is one of the most significant legal acts of the day in the fields of energy and consumption.
The law published in Issue No. 188 is part of a set of legal acts from a single day, in which the Saeima simultaneously clarified the Energy Law and the Social Services and Social Assistance Law. The amendments to the law on limiting the price increase of petroleum products are a direct signal to fuel market participants and consumers, as the regulation applies to the formation of retail prices.
