The Croatian Parliament has allocated a total of 3,278,487.25 euros for the work of political parties and independent representatives in the period from October 1 to December 31, 2026. This is the Decision on the allocation of funds for the work of political parties and independent representatives, published in the Official Gazette (Narodne novine) No. 121 of October 23, 2026. The decision was made by the Committee on the Constitution, Rules of Procedure and Political System of the Croatian Parliament at a session held on October 21, 2026, under class 400-06/26-01/24 and registry number 6521-1-26-1, and was signed by the Committee Chairman dr. sc. Ivan Malenica.

The decision is based on Articles 7, 9, and 10 of the Act on the Financing of Political Activities, Election Campaigning and Referendums (“Official Gazette”, No. 29/19 and 98/19) and Article 60 of the Rules of Procedure of the Croatian Parliament. In the State Budget of the Republic of Croatia for 2026, a total of 13,113,949.00 euros was secured for this purpose, and previous quarterly distributions were carried out by decisions of the same Committee for the periods from January 1 to March 31, from April 1 to June 30, and from July 1 to September 30, 2026. This Decision allocates the remaining funds for the final quarter of the year.

The funds belong to political parties that, according to the final election results, obtained a seat in the Croatian Parliament, as well as to independent representatives. The distribution is based on an equal amount per representative, so funds are allocated to an individual party proportionally to the number of mandates won. For each representative of an underrepresented gender, an additional allowance of 10 percent of the amount provided for a representative is granted; underrepresentation exists when the representation of one gender in Parliament is lower than 40 percent.

Largest share of budget funds for HDZ and SDP

According to the criteria in the Decision, the largest individual amount belongs to the Croatian Democratic Union, which has 41 male representatives and 15 female representatives in Parliament, and receives 1,209,968.02 euros. This is followed by the Social Democratic Party of Croatia with 20 male representatives and 17 female representatives and an amount of 814,361.08 euros.

Third in terms of funds is the Homeland Movement with 11 male representatives and one female representative, which is allocated 254,619.36 euros, while Možemo! – Political Platform with two male representatives and eight female representatives receives 227,263.56 euros. Most with eight male representatives and one female representative receives 191,490.59 euros, and the Independent Democratic Serbian Party with one male representative and two female representatives receives 67,337.35 euros.

Parties with representatives in the lower part of the distribution

The amounts for other parliamentary parties are allocated as follows:

  • Center (1 representative and 1 female representative) – 44,190.14 euros
  • Croatian Sovereignists (1 representative and 1 female representative) – 44,190.14 euros
  • Independent Platform of the North (2 representatives) – 42,085.84 euros
  • Istrian Democratic Assembly (2 representatives) – 42,085.84 euros
  • Croatian Social Liberal Party (2 representatives) – 42,085.84 euros
  • Civic-Liberal Alliance (1 female representative) – 23,147.21 euros
  • Dalija Orešković and people with a first and last name (1 female representative) – 23,147.21 euros
  • Croatian Democratic Union, Croatian Party of Retirees, Croatian Peasant Party, Focus, Croatian People’s Party – Liberal Democrats and Right and Justice (1 representative each) – 21,042.92 euros each

Independent representatives and returned mandate amount

Among the independent representatives, Armin Hodžić, Robert Jankovics, Marin Corva, Vladimir Bilek, and Veljko Kajtazi receive 21,042.92 euros each, as well as the “Independent” category with one representative.

The decision specifically addresses the case of a suspended mandate: the amount of 21,029.42 euros, returned to the State Budget following the suspension of Furija Radina’s representative mandate, which refers to regular funding for the period from July 1 to September 30, 2026, is allocated to Marin Corva, who performed the representative duties during that period.

Termination of the previous decision and entry into force

Upon the entry into force of the new Decision, the Decision on the allocation of funds for the work of political parties and independent representatives (“Narodne novine” no. 11/26) ceases to be valid. The Decision is published in the Official Gazette (Narodne novine) and enters into force on the day of its adoption, October 21, 2026.

The distribution is routine but directly measurable: each representative mandate in this quarter is worth 21,042.92 euros, with an addition for the underrepresented gender, so the total amount of public money per party and representative is now publicly available and verifiable. For voters and oversight mechanisms, this is the basis for comparing party revenues with the transparency obligations prescribed by the Law on the Financing of Political Activities, Election Campaigning, and Referendums.

“In accordance with point I of this Decision, for the period from October 1 to December 31, 2026, funds for the work of political parties and independent representatives are allocated in the amount of 3,278,487.25 euros.”
