Rus announces a vacancy for an Administrative position via competitive examination

The City Council of Rus (Jaén) has announced the selection tests to fill one Administrative position as a career civil servant, included in the 2023 Public Employment Offer, through a competitive examination system (concurso-oposición). The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén, number 169, dated September 1, 2026, page 13200, under reference 2026/4090.

The decision stems from the Mayoral Resolution No. 2026-0594, dated August 28, 2026, signed by the mayor, Rocío Beltrán Valcárcel, which approves the general rules and the call for the selection tests. This is an opportunity for stable public employment in the region, aimed at those aspiring to an administrative position in local government.

The process will be carried out via the competitive examination (concurso-oposición) system, which combines an examination phase with the assessment of the applicants’ merits, in accordance with the provisions of the municipality’s public employment offer.

Application Deadline

The deadline for submitting applications will be 20 business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette (BOE). Interested parties should stay alert to said publication to avoid missing the deadline.

Appeals Against the Call

Against the resolution and the rules, which exhaust the administrative route, interested parties may alternatively file an optional appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) within one month from the day following the publication of the announcement, before the Mayor’s Office, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure.

A contentious-administrative appeal may also be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Jaén within two months, in accordance with article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, of the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction. If the appeal for reversal is chosen, the contentious route cannot be pursued until the former is resolved or dismissed by administrative silence.
