Romanones opens the modification of the sewerage tax for public consultation
Por FactBox Admin

The Plenary of the Romanones City Council initially approved, in a session on September 29, 2026, the modification of the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the fee for the provision of sewerage services, and now submits the file for public review for 30 days. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 190, corresponding to Tuesday, October 6, 2026, with official reference 2026_2584.
The processing complies with Article 17.2 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which requires the public display of modifications to fiscal ordinances before their final approval. The agreement was signed in Romanones on October 2, 2026, by the mayor, Javier de Luz Espada.
The announcement does not detail the amount of the fee nor the planned update percentage: it is limited to opening the public exhibition process of the file. The regulation directly affects the bills paid by residents for the municipal sewerage service, a mandatory local tax issued alongside other fees and managed in the municipality through the Provincial Collection Service of the Provincial Council of Guadalajara.
Thirty days to examine the file and submit allegations
The public information period is thirty days and is counted from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province. During this period, any interested person may consult the file and formulate any claims they deem appropriate.
There are two enabled channels:
- In-person examination at the municipal offices of the Romanones City Council.
- Electronic consultation of the text of the modification on the municipal electronic headquarters portal, at the address http://romanones.sedelectronica.es.
Final approval without an express agreement from the Plenary
The announcement specifies that, if no claim is submitted within the indicated period, the modification will be definitively approved without the need for an express agreement from the Plenary. In other words, administrative silence here operates in favor of the entry into force of the new text of the ordinance.
Other municipal procedures in the same gazette
The same issue 190 of the gazette includes another file from the Romanones City Council: the public exhibition of the General Account for the 2025 financial year, reported by the Special Accounts Commission, for a period of fifteen days and in accordance with Article 212 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. Both announcements share the same electronic headquarters and were signed by the same mayor on October 2, 2026.
In tax terms, the municipality appears in the public exhibition of tax registers of various local entities published by the Provincial Collection Service of the Diputación de Guadalajara in the Official Gazette of the Province number 188, dated October 2, 2026, with the drinking water register for the first half of 2026. The voluntary payment period for these receipts runs from October 8 to December 10, 2026, with direct debits for those registered for automatic payment occurring on October 14.
The modification of the sewerage tax thus adds to the fiscal calendar that the residents of Romanones face this autumn. As it is a tax ordinance, the text resulting from the public information process will set the quotas to be applied in the next service receipts; therefore, the period currently open is the only formal window for taxpayers to submit allegations before the regulation is finalized.
