Ribeira opens 150,000 euro call for applications for local sports clubs

Sports clubs in Ribeira can now apply for municipal grants intended to promote their activity during the 2026 financial year. The Local Government Board of the council approved the call on October 22, and the extract of the resolution was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 206, corresponding to October 28, 2026, with announcement number 2026/6909 and identifier BDNS 937287. The line has a budget of 150,000 euros.

The publication of the extract is carried out in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, while the full text of the call can be consulted in the National Database of Subsidies (BDNS), at the electronic address enabled for call 937287. The purpose of the call is to establish the criteria and procedures for the granting of subsidies during the 2026 financial year, aimed at promoting activities of the sports clubs of the municipality.

The regulatory framework of the call is the Regulatory Ordinance of the subsidy program for non-profit entities, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña on May 29, 2018, as stated in the extract itself. The resolution bears the signature of the mayor, María José Sampedro Fernández, dated October 22, 2026.

Registered office, registration, and twenty members

Beneficiary entities must meet a series of conditions:

• Have the registered office or headquarters in the Municipality of Ribeira.
• Be registered in the Municipal Registry of Clubs and have a minimum of one year of participation in federated sports activity.
• Have a minimum number of twenty members.
• Not be subject to any case of incapacity or incompatibility to receive public aid or subsidies.
• Be up to date with obligations to the Tax Agency, Social Security, and the Municipality of Ribeira.
• Have no previous aid from the council pending justification, unless an extension was granted.

One month deadline and electronic submission

Applications shall be submitted electronically through the electronic office of the Municipality of Ribeira. The submission period is one month and begins to count from the day following the publication of the call in the provincial gazette, that is, from October 29, 2026.

On the other hand, the justification period will be one month from the day following the publication of the approval of the granting of the aid. This requirement links to the demand to have previous subsidies justified in order to be able to compete in the new call.

150,000 euros allocated to item 341.48015

The Municipality of Ribeira reserves an allocation of 150,000 euros for this call, charged to item 341.48015. The amount appears in the fourth section of the extract published in the provincial gazette.

The call covers only the promotion of sporting activities by the municipality’s clubs during 2026, without the summary detailing a breakdown by modalities or individual amounts. Any modification or extension of the credit must comply with the procedure provided for in the general regulations on subsidies.

The publication of this aid line conditions the financing of a large part of the local sporting fabric, formed by entities that compete in federated categories and depend on these contributions to meet seasonal expenses. The requirement of twenty members and the minimum year of federated activity exclude newly created groups, which must wait for subsequent calls. Interested clubs have until the end of November to submit the documentation electronically.
