Reus calls for aid for the dining hall for people with psychic disabilities
Por FactBox Admin

The Reus City Council has announced, through a competitive bidding process, grants for the assistance of people with mental disabilities in the dining halls of special employment centers and occupational therapy services in the city for the year 2026. The call is detailed in the extract of the Decree of August 26, 2026 from the Department of People’s Services and Social Rights, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on September 2, 2026 (CVE 2026-08168, pp. 1-8).
The planned financial allocation is 55,000 euros, charged to budget application 30422-23124-489 of the 2026 municipal expenditure budget, and may be increased up to 65,000 euros depending on needs and budget availability. The regulatory bases were approved by the Local Government Board in the session of March 30, 2012, and published in the BOPT no. 136 of June 13, 2012.
Deadline and application procedure
Applications may be submitted within a period of 20 business days starting from the day after the publication of the announcement in the official gazette. Processing can be done through two channels:
- Simplified procedure, for people whose family unit composition or documentation submitted in the 2025 call has not changed, via a responsible declaration.
- Ordinary procedure, for the remaining families, via electronic submission at the electronic office (https://www.reus.cat/ajuts) or in person at the Citizen Service Office (OAC), plaça Mercadal, 1, by prior appointment.
Collaborating entities, if authorized by the applicant, may submit applications on their behalf.
Economic criteria and amount of aid
The calculation of the income limit for the cohabitation unit is based on the Sufficiency Income Indicator of Catalonia (IRSC) for 2026, set at 9,622.18 euros per year according to Decree-law 23/2025, of December 23. One additional member with income is counted for each person with a disability in the family unit, and one more member in the case of single-parent families.
The initial amount of the grant is 1.80 euros per meal, and may be increased, if budget availability exists, up to a maximum of 3.61 euros, preferentially for people who meet the two established social criteria. The income reference to be computed is that of the 2025 fiscal year.
Evaluation and payment commission
The commission in charge of the study and evaluation of the applications is composed of the holders Tamara Pérez Merino, Núria Balsells Pàmies, Ester Ribé Civit, and Susanna García Rosel, with substitutes Tania Cuadrado Espinosa, Teresa Barceló Alentorn, Vanesa Villanueva Rodriguez, and Misericordia Farnós Gavaldà. The general secretary of the City Council is Jaume Renyer Alimbau.
Payment will be made, as a matter of course, directly to the collaborating entity, upon presentation of the nominal list of beneficiaries. The first payment will include the months elapsed from January until the resolution, and the remainder will be made through quarterly payments, with final settlement in January 2027.
The call directly affects families in Reus with people with psychic disabilities who use the dining halls of special employment centers and occupational therapy centers, as well as third-sector entities acting as collaborators.
