Background: the removal of the fee

The call comes after the Plenary of the City Council of Retamal de Llerena, in an ordinary session on August 7, 2026, agreed to provisionally approve the removal of the fee for the use of the municipal hostel and to repeal the regulating tax ordinance. That agreement was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz on August 18, 2026, with reference 3274/2026, and was submitted for public information for a period of 30 business days.

With the fee abolished, the hostel’s operating model will now rely on the private use concession currently being called for, the operating conditions of which are detailed in the specifications that applicants must consult before submitting their offer.

The call for applications opens an opportunity for tourism, hospitality, and accommodation management companies in the Llerena region, who have one month to prepare their proposals and examine the specifications at the Town Hall.
