Prizes for the 2025 Badajoz Provincial Council Bullfighting Trophy have been decided

The Vice President of the Autonomous Body Provincial Board of the Bullfighting School of the Provincial Council of Badajoz has issued the final resolution granting the awards for the XIII practical classes competition “Trofeo Diputación de Badajoz 2025”. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz on September 30, 2026, within the Local Administration section, via Announcement 3802/2026. The three winning students share a total of 1,900 euros.

The resolution is issued within the administrative file opened for the granting of these awards and is signed by delegation of the Presidency of the body, granted according to the announcement published in the BOP on October 29, 2025. The text concludes the administrative process and adheres to the verdict of the competition Jury and the amounts stipulated in the eighth clause of the call for entries, which established the financial endowments for each of the first three places.

In addition to the distribution of prizes, the operative part recognizes the validity of all administrative actions in the file and validates the total committed expenditure. The resolution is signed by the Vice President of the OA Board, María Josefa Benavides Méndez, by delegation of the President.

The winners of the XIII competition

The Jury’s verdict ranks the students according to the score obtained in the practical classes, with the following endowments:

• First prize: Manuel León Sánchez, with 16.00 points and a financial endowment of 1,000.00 euros.
• Second prize: José Martínez Librero, with 15.75 points and a financial endowment of 600.00 euros.
• Third prize: Francisco Rodríguez Perera, with 15.00 points and a financial endowment of 300.00 euros.

An expenditure of 1,900 euros charged to the 2026 budget

The global amount of the three awards totals 1,900.00 euros, an amount that the resolution validates as the total expenditure of the file. The funding will be charged to the current 2026 budget of the autonomous body, under the budgetary application 41.3380.48002.1100.

The competition corresponds to the thirteenth edition of the practical classes of the provincial bullfighting school, a training cycle whose results are now definitively resolved following the instruction of the file and the Jury’s verdict.

Deadlines and means of appeal

Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, interested parties have two alternatives:

• Optional appeal for reversal before the same body that issued it, within a period of one month starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province.
• Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative courts of Badajoz, within a period of two months, in accordance with Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction.

The publication of this final resolution closes the procedure and provides certainty to the award winners regarding the grants that recognize their performance in the practical classes. For the bullfighting enthusiasts of the province, the announcement confirms the provincial institution’s financial support for the Escuela de Tauromaquia’s youth academy and provides an official record of the 2025 edition’s honors list.
