Redondela abre o prazo das axudas para os comedores escolares

The Redondela City Council announces grants intended to finance the maintenance of school canteen services and activities managed by the Parents’ Associations (ANPA) of the municipality’s public educational centers for the 2025-2026 academic year. The regulatory bases and the call for applications were published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO) number 172, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the Local Administration section, and the application period will remain open until September 30, 2026, inclusive.

The call is framed within the obligation of educational administrations to guarantee complementary transport and canteen services, as established by Organic Law 2/2006, of May 3, on Education, and Decree 10/2007, of January 25, which regulates the operation of canteens in non-university public centers. Article 2.3 of this regulation provides that the educational Administration may collaborate with ANPAs when they assume the management and organization of the school canteen, within a legal framework completed by Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia, Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and Royal Decree 887/2006.

Credit and object of the grants

The total credit available for the granting of the grants amounts to €30,000.00, distributed across three financing lines:

  • €20,000.00 for the general co-financing of school canteens.
  • €2,000.00 to subsidize the collaboration of ANPAs in the grants awarded by Social Services for canteen students, charged to budget application 3231A/4890002.
  • €8,000.00 for the co-financing of extracurricular activities, charged to budget application 3231A/4890000.

The grants will be used to cover the daily cost of the menu per diner and the days of attendance at the canteen, as well as the co-financing of two extracurricular activities per ANPA. Holidays, contests and end-of-year celebrations, leisure or free-time excursions, and activities not organized by the applying ANPA are excluded.

Requirements and submission

To be a beneficiary, the ANPA must be registered in the City Council’s Registry of Associations, be up to date with tax obligations with local, state, and regional treasuries and with Social Security, and have collaborated in the justification of Social Services grants from the previous academic year. Submission and processing shall be carried out exclusively by electronic means through the city council’s electronic office (https://redondela.sedelectronica.gal), and applications shall be addressed to the Mayor’s Office accompanied by annexes I to VIII.

The granting procedure is one of competitive bidding. For dining halls, the amount will be assigned in direct relation to the total cost of each center; for extracurricular activities, a scoring system will be applied based on duration, content, number of participants, representativeness of the ANPA, inclusion of students with special needs, and parity in the board of directors, with a maximum of 50 points per ANPA.

Evaluation and resolution commission

The evaluation commission will be chaired by the Councilor for Education, Alberto Álvarez Pérez, and composed of Councilors Iria Vilaboa Álvarez and María Rita Pérez Táboas, the official Elisa Vieites Piquenque (with María Lourdes Fernández Arines as substitute), and the procedure instructor, who will act as secretary with voice but without vote. The grant will be made by resolution of the Mayor’s Office within three months from the end of the application submission period, and will be published on the municipal notice board of the electronic headquarters.

The call represents direct support for the families of Redondela, by contributing to reducing the cost of the school dining hall and maintaining the extracurricular activities managed by the ANPAs in the municipality’s public centers. Interested entities have just over three weeks, until September 30, 2026, to submit their applications electronically.
