Por FactBox Admin

The Redondela City Council has announced grants to finance the maintenance of school canteen services and activities managed by the Parents’ and Mothers’ Associations (ANPA) of the municipality’s public educational centers for the 2025-2026 academic year. The call, approved by the Mayor’s Office, was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO) number 172, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the Local Administration section, and includes the regulatory bases and application annexes.
The global credit allocated for the granting of the aid amounts to €30,000.00, divided between the co-financing of school canteens, collaboration with Social Services grants, and extracurricular activities. Processing will be carried out exclusively by electronic means through the council’s electronic office.
Object and amount of the grants
The grants are intended to cover the daily cost of the menu per diner and for the days of attendance at the canteen, as well as the co-financing of extracurricular activities, of which two per call will be eligible for subsidies. The credit is distributed as follows:
- €20,000.00 for the general co-financing of school canteens, charged to budget application 3231A/4890002.
- €2,000.00 to subsidize the collaboration of ANPAs in the grants awarded by Social Services for canteen students, under the same budget application.
- €8,000.00 for the co-financing of extracurricular activities, charged to application 3231A/4890000.
Holidays, contests, end-of-year celebrations, leisure or free-time excursions, and activities not organized by the applying ANPA are excluded. Compatibility with other subsidies is declared, although the amount may not exceed the total cost of the activity.
Beneficiaries and evaluation criteria
Legally constituted ANPAs, registered in the council’s Registry of Associations and up to date with their tax obligations to the local, state, and regional treasuries, as well as to Social Security, may be beneficiaries. The procedure will be processed under a competitive bidding regime, through the comparison of applications according to the evaluation criteria set out in the bases.
For canteen grants, the amount will be assigned in direct relation to the total cost of each center, calculated based on the number of meals served and the cost of each meal invoiced by the catering company. For extracurricular activities, scoring criteria will be applied based on duration, content, number of participants, representativeness of the ANPA, inclusion of students with special needs, and parity in the board of directors, with a maximum of 50 points per ANPA.
Deadline, processing, and resolution
The deadline for submitting applications and supporting documentation will begin the day following the official publication of the summary in the BOPPO and will end on September 30, 2026, inclusive. Applications shall be addressed to the Mayor’s Office through the council’s electronic office (redondela.sedelectronica.gal), accompanied by annexes I to VIII and the corresponding supporting documentation.
The evaluation commission will be chaired by the Councilor for Education, Alberto Álvarez Pérez, and composed of Councilors Iria Vilaboa Álvarez and María Rita Pérez Táboas, with official Elisa Vieites Piquenque as secretary and María Lourdes Fernández Arines as substitute. The award will be made by resolution of the Mayor’s Office within three months from the end of the application period, and will be published on the municipal notice board and, when exceeding €3,000, in the Diario Oficial de Galicia and the BOPPO.
The call is framed within Organic Law 2/2006, of May 3, on Education, Decree 10/2007, of January 25, which regulates the operation of school cafeterias, and Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia, among other regulations. The grants are voluntary in nature and do not create a right for subsequent years.
For the families of Redondela, this call represents direct support for the cost of the school cafeteria and complementary activities managed by the ANPAs, within a context of social and economic protection for minors. The deadline for submitting applications is short, therefore interested associations must process the documentation electronically before September 30.
