They rectify and reopen the deadline for the Santa Leocadia mountain in Guitiriz

The Provincial Jury for the Classification of Common Neighborhood Forests of Lugo rectifies the object of file 4/2025 and opens a new period for allegations in the procedure for the extension of the classification of the Santa Leocadia forest, in the municipality of Guitiriz. The decision, adopted by agreement of the Jury on June 12, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of Galicia no. 172 of September 10, 2026, p. 48489.

The rectification is due to the fact that, after a technical review of the file, it was found that the geographical identification of the surfaces initially published contains deficiencies that require correction. Likewise, new independent surfaces belonging to the same forest were detected, which are now incorporated into the procedure.

A substantial alteration of the object

The original announcement opening the period for allegations was published in the Official Gazette of Galicia no. 178 on September 16, 2025. Since the new description is considered to constitute a substantial alteration of the object of the file, the Jury opens a new one-month period, counted from the day following its publication in the official bulletin.

The procedure is processed in accordance with Article 23 of Decree 260/1992, of September 4, which approves the Regulation for the execution of Law 13/1989, of October 10, on common neighborhood forests.

Rectified surfaces and new incorporations

The announcement distinguishes between the rectified initial surface and the new surfaces incorporated into the file:

• Rectified initial surface: areas of A Raposeira and A Conchada, with parcels subject to classification such as 27022A34000133, 27022A34000138, 27022A36200006 or 27022A37300025, among others.
• New incorporated surfaces: areas of Porto Carreiro and O Curro, with parcels such as 27022A35900055, 27022A35900060 or 27022A35600323.
• The tables in the announcement also include the cadastral references of the bordering parcels, including paths and streams, and the plans in the annex facilitate their location.

Deadline and processing of allegations

During the new period, interested parties may intervene in the file and formulate the allegations they deem appropriate, as well as provide the documents or information they consider convenient. Allegations submitted during the first period, corresponding to the publication of September 16, 2025, will remain on record in the file and it is not necessary to submit them again, without prejudice to the fact that they may complete or update the documentation within the new deadline.

The announcement is signed by the president of the Jury, Mª Olga Iglesias Fontal, dated August 24, 2026, and bears the official reference CVE-DOG: x5em4k69-ynt3-9nc8-rnv3-3olfoqzw4zn1.

The reopening of the deadline ensures that the neighborhood community of Guitiriz can know with precision the areas intended for classification and exercise its right to file allegations in a procedure that directly affects the ownership and use of a neighborhood forest held in common.
