Assessment years rectified for the Melilla City of Sport scholarships
Por FactBox Admin

The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport of the Autonomous City of Melilla has rectified the errors contained in the table of the provisional resolution proposal for the scholarships intended for Melillan athletes called “Melilla City of Sport” for the 2026 fiscal year, specifically regarding the years used for the assessment of sporting results. The correction is published in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous City of Melilla (BOME) number 6428, dated November 3, 2026, with the official reference BOME-A-2026-1221 on page 5390. The total score, the type of scholarship, and the amount assigned to each of the six proposed athletes remain unchanged.
The announcement corrects the content published four days earlier, on Friday, October 30, 2026, in BOME number 6427, where the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport announced the provisional resolution proposal for these grants, processed under file number 26889/2026. The call is governed by Order No. 1567, of September 7, 2026, an extract of which was published in BOME number 6413, dated September 11, 2026, and by the regulatory bases approved by the City’s Governing Council in the ordinary session of March 14, 2025, published in the extraordinary BOME number 21, dated March 26, 2025.
The procedure is based on competitive bidding and has a budget allocation of 90,000 euros, 100% financed by the Autonomous City of Melilla. The provisional proposal includes both the list of admitted candidates and their scores, as well as the excluded applicants, and is notified to the interested parties through its publication in the official gazette.
From three identical columns to three distinct fiscal years
The error exclusively affected the headers of the scoring columns. Where the table published on October 30 indicated the year 2025 three times, the corrected text establishes that the three columns correspond to the fiscal years 2025, 2024, and 2023, respectively.
The partial figures recorded in each of those columns, the resulting total score, the sporting modality, the type of scholarship, and the amount remain exactly the same in both announcements, meaning that the rectification does not alter the meaning of the proposal nor the distribution of the grants.
Six athletes and 45,000 euros at stake
The provisional proposal for the 2026 call distinguishes two categories, gold and silver, with grants of 10,000 and 5,000 euros respectively. The six proposed athletes are:
- Nicolás Volpe Bravo (beach tennis), gold category, 21,246 points, 10,000 euros.
- Hadriel Mehamed González (athletics), gold category, 7,463 points, 10,000 euros.
- María Martínez Serón (beach tennis), gold category, 15,793 points, 10,000 euros.
- Valentín Volpe Bravo (beach tennis), silver category, 4,597 points, 5,000 euros.
- Adoración Alonso Lorenzo (athletics), silver category, 3,825 points, 5,000 euros.
- Mohammed Douiri Kada (beach tennis), silver category, 3,601 points, 5,000 euros.
The total amount of the six proposed scholarships amounts to 45,000 euros, half of the 90,000 euro allocation provided in the call for the current fiscal year. Four of the six provisional beneficiaries compete in beach tennis and two in athletics.
Period for appeals and one excluded applicant
The provisional resolution proposal is notified by publication in the bulletin, in accordance with the sixth section of the call, and opens a period of ten business days to submit appeals. The rectification of errors does not restart this process nor modify the deadlines already established.
The announcement of October 30 also included one excluded applicant, Álvaro González Caño, in the lifesaving and lifeguarding modality, for non-compliance with article 5.g of the regulatory bases. The bases approved in March 2025 also establish, in article 3.4, that the maximum number of scholarships grantable to athletes of the same sports modality shall be one-third of each of the categories.
The document appears signed in Melilla, on October 30, 2026, by the technical secretary of Education, Youth and Sport, Alejandro Alonsotegui Cotero, and bears the identifier BOME-A-2026-1221.
The rectification is formal in scope, but not insignificant: the assessment of sporting results over three consecutive years is one of the elements that determine the applicants’ scores, so the accuracy of the headings is essential for the interested parties to verify the calculations and, if applicable, appeal during the open period. With the correction published today, the six proposed Melillan athletes fully maintain their scholarships and the Autonomous City ensures consistency between the administrative act and its official publication before the final resolution.
