Fifteen admitted candidates for nine fire captain positions in Albacete

The Albacete City Council has approved the final list of admitted and excluded persons for the provision of nine vacant positions of Specialist Corporal of the Fire Service through internal promotion. The resolution, issued by the Delegated Councilor for General Coordination of Municipal Government Operations, bears number 7709/2026 dated September 23 and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete number 114, dated September 30, 2026, in its third section. The first theoretical exercise is scheduled for October 27, 2026.

Framework of the call

The nine positions are included in the Public Employment Offers of 2023, 2024, and 2025. The specific rules of the call were approved by agreement of the Local Government Board on March 12, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province number 39, dated April 1, 2026, with a subsequent announcement in the Official State Gazette number 96, dated April 20, 2026.

The provisional list of admitted and excluded persons was published in the Official Gazette of the Province number 70, dated June 19, 2026, with a single and non-extendable period of ten business days to correct defects. After this period, the Qualifying Tribunal, in a session on September 22, 2026, approved the final lists and set the location, time, and date of the first exercise.

Excluded persons and exam calendar

The resolution definitively excludes two candidates for not being public employees of the Albacete City Council:

• Víctor Navarro Herrero
• Miguel Valdelvira Pumarino

The first exercise, of a theoretical nature, will be held on October 27, 2026 (Tuesday) at 4:30 PM at the premises of the Employment and Economic Promotion Service, located at Carmen Street, number 4, Albacete.

Appeals

The resolution may be optionally appealed for reversal within one month or challenged directly before the contentious-administrative jurisdictional order within two months, both counted from its publication in the Official Gazette of the Province, in accordance with articles 112, 123, and 124 of Law 39/2015 and article 46 of Law 29/1998.

The publication of the final lists closes the admission phase and starts the countdown to the exam: the fifteen admitted candidates will compete for nine middle-management positions in the capital’s fire extinguishing service, an internal promotion process that strengthens the structure of the municipal Fire Service without resorting to external personnel.
