Quesada Ceballos, new secretary to the head of Health

The Regional Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has resolved the provision, through the free appointment procedure, of job position no. 16803, titled Secretariat of the Head of the Department, assigned to the Support Unit for the Regional Minister. The appointee is the civil servant Natividad Olga Quesada Ceballos, according to the Order of August 27, 2026, signed by the Regional Minister Esther María Monzón Monzón and published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands no. 180, of September 8, 2026 (p. 34151).
The appointment occurs following the public call made via Resolution of the Technical General Secretariat of July 14, 2026 (BOC no. 149, of 7/27/2026), and is based on the reports issued by the Technical General Secretariat itself and by the Support Unit for the Regional Minister, dated August 27, 2026, in accordance with the fifth and sixth bases of the call.
A key position of direct support
The Secretariat of the Head of the Department is an administrative trust position that provides assistance and material support to the head of the Regional Ministry. Its functions include coordination with the services and public bodies attached to the department in the management of meetings, as well as the management and processing of service commissions for the head of the department and her support unit.
The position, located territorially in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, has the following characteristics:
- Group/Subgroup: C/C2; Body/Scale: C2.
- Destination supplement level (CD): 18.
- Specific supplement points: 42.
- Link: career civil servant.
- Administration of origin: Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.
- Form of provision: free appointment; working day: normal.
Deadlines for cessation and taking office
The Order establishes that the appointed civil servant shall cease in her current job position within three days, counted from the day following the publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands. She must take office within the same period if she resides on the same island, or within one month if she resides outside of it, counted from the day following the cessation.
The act, which exhausts the administrative route, may be appealed via contentious-administrative proceedings within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, or alternatively through an optional appeal for reversal before the Regional Ministry itself within one month, pursuant to articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure.
Relevance of the appointment
The filling of this position by free appointment reinforces the direct support team for the head of the Ministry of Health, a department with competencies over the Canarian public health system and the Canarian Health Service.
