Quart initially approves the covered sports equipment of Palol d'Onyar

The Quart City Council, in an extraordinary plenary session held on July 24, 2026, initially approved the “Integrated project for the implementation of a municipal covered and enclosed sports facility in Palol d’Onyar”, with a contract execution budget of €939,393.74 excluding VAT (€1,136,666.42 including VAT). The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona (no. 162, of August 24, 2026, reference BOP-2026_0_162_7398), which opens the public information process.

The project, processed under file X2026000522, is subject to public exhibition so that any person may examine it and submit allegations. The initiative directly affects the residents of Palol d’Onyar and the sports fabric of the municipality, which will have a new covered space for sports practice.

Legal framework and exhibition process

The initial approval is based on article 235.2 of Legislative Decree 2/2003, of April 28, which approves the revised text of the Municipal and Local Regime Law of Catalonia, and articles 37.1 and 2 of Decree 179/1995, of June 13, which approves the Regulation of works, activities, and services of local entities.

The project is subject to public information for a period of thirty business days, starting from the day after its publication in the BOP of Girona and on the municipal electronic headquarters (etauler). Allegations may be submitted during this period.

The project can be consulted at the corporation’s electronic headquarters during the public exhibition period, through the procedures portal of the Gironès County Council. The announcement is signed by the Mayor of Quart, Ferran Rodero, on August 13, 2026.

The new infrastructure represents an investment of over one million euros and will provide Palol d’Onyar with a covered and enclosed sports facility, a common demand in the municipality’s centers to guarantee sports practice throughout the year. The final resolution will depend on the allegations submitted during the public exhibition period.
