2.9% wage increase for Tarragona's wood industry

The Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona of August 20, 2026, publishes the resolution registering and publicizing the Partial Agreement of the Collective Labor Agreement for the wood industries sector of the province of Tarragona for the years 2023-2025 (agreement code no. 43000395011994). The agreement, signed on June 17, 2026, increases the 2024 salary table by 2.9% for the year 2025 and updates the per diems and mileage of article 48 of the agreement by the same percentage.

The resolution, signed on August 10, 2026, by Iraide Careaga Hernández, head of the Administrative Secretariat Service of the Territorial Services of the Department of Enterprise and Labor in Tarragona, orders the registration of the agreement in the Registry of collective labor agreements and equality plans and its publication in the provincial gazette.

An agreement born from mediation

The negotiation was not simple. The negotiating Commission had been convened for May 18, 2026, but the social partners filed a request for mediation before the Labor Tribunal of Catalonia (TLC), the session of which took place on May 26, 2026. During this appearance, both parties reached the partial agreement that is now being published.

The agreement was signed by the employer side and the social partners:

For the employer side, the Provincial Federation of Guild and Regional Associations of Carpenters, Cabinetmakers and Similar, presided over by Carlos Meseguer Lluch, and the Association of Wood Entrepreneurs of Baix Ebre and Montsià, with Joan Roca Monfort, Marc Garcia Garcia, and advisor Andreu Palomo Peláez.
For the social partners, the unions UGT-FICA (with Ivan Martí Cañamero, Ivan Adell Nolla, Josep Barceló Romero, Manuel Molina Álvarez, and Juana Arenas Gómez) and CCOO (with Tomás Castillo Domínguez, Nuria Marín Rojo, and Miguel Ruiz Ramos).

The new 2025 salary table

The salary table for the year 2025, effective from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, applies the percentage increase of 2.9% over the 2024 base. The main annual and monthly amounts are:

Group 4 (Foreman): €23,957.99 annual / €1,547.18 monthly.
Group 5 (1st administrative official, traveling salesman, 2nd official): €21,480.20 annual / €1,387.17 monthly.
Group 6 (Assistant, specialist laborer, administrative assistant): €19,842.34 annual / €1,281.40 monthly.
Group 7 (Laborer): €19,210.53 annual / €1,240.60 monthly.

Updated per diems and mileage

The agreement also updates the expenses of article 48 of the agreement by the same percentage of 2.9%:

Full per diem: €33.26 for the year 2025.
Half per diem: €14.41 for the year 2025.
Mileage: €0.34 per kilometer when the worker travels with their own vehicle to a workplace other than the usual one.

If the actual expenses exceed the fixed amounts, the companies must pay the difference. Both parties agreed to proceed with the registration and publication procedures and authorized the lawyer Andreu Palomo Peláez to appear before the REGON for the appropriate purposes.

Impact on the sector

The partial agreement affects all workers in the wood industries of the province of Tarragona and represents a first step in the negotiation of the agreement, as both parties convened to continue with the negotiation of the collective agreement. Publication in the official bulletin provides legal certainty to the salary increase and the new per diems, which must be applied from April 1, 2025.
