Por FactBox Admin

The Puigcerdà City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona (no. 177, September 15, 2026) the regulatory bases and the call to establish a job bank for Second-Class Officers of the Works, Maintenance, and Logistics Brigade, group C2, intended for the hiring of temporary contractual staff. The Local Governing Board approved the bases on August 31, 2026, and the deadline for submitting applications is 20 business days starting from the day after the publication of the announcement in the gazette.
The call, processed under file no. 5324/2026 and published with the official reference BOP-2026_0_177_7887 (edict no. 7887, pages 1 to 13), aims to have a list of candidates to cover substitutions, temporarily vacant positions, and other temporary staffing needs that may arise in this job position. The document is signed by Maria Dolors Respecte Guinot, acting municipal secretary.
Requirements and documentation
To participate, the requirements established in article 56 of the Revised Text of the Basic Statute of Public Employees (Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015) must be met:
- Hold Spanish nationality or meet the conditions of article 57 of the TREBEP; foreign nationals with legal residence in Spain may also apply.
- Be at least 16 years old and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.
- Possess a Graduate degree in Compulsory Secondary Education, school graduate certificate, first-level vocational training (FP), or intermediate-level training cycles.
- Hold a category B driver’s license.
- Accredit B1 level in Catalan (and Spanish, in the case of foreign nationals), with the exemptions provided by current regulations.
The application must be accompanied by the DNI, the qualification, the driver’s license, the language certificate, and proof of payment of the registration fee, which for subgroup C2 is €17.00 according to Tax Ordinance no. 6. Persons registered with the public employment service enjoy a 100% discount on the fee by presenting the Registration and Renewal Document of the Employment Demand (DARDO).
Selection process and operation of the job bank
The selection procedure is by competitive examination (oposición), with a maximum score of 100 points and a minimum of 50 to pass. It includes a theoretical multiple-choice test of 20 questions (36 minutes, maximum 50 points), a practical case study test (120 minutes, maximum 50 points) and, if applicable, Catalan and Spanish language tests graded as pass or fail. The tests are scheduled for late 2026.
Applications must be submitted through the electronic office of the Puigcerdà City Council (https://puigcerda.eadministracio.cat) using the specific form, or in person at the Citizen Service Office. The resulting pool will have a validity of two years from its establishment, and calls will be made by email in strict order of score, with a maximum of two refusals without losing position.
A boost to public employment in Cerdanya
The call represents a relevant job opportunity for the Cerdanya region, at a time when the Puigcerdà City Council needs to reinforce its municipal brigade to handle maintenance, cleaning, masonry, gardening, electricity, lighting, and, in winter, road snow removal and signage. The creation of this pool guarantees the local administration an agile and transparent mechanism to cover temporary staffing needs, while offering residents of the area a stable path to public employment.
