Puente Genil definitively approves its 2026 municipal budget

The Puente Genil City Council has definitively approved its General Budget for the 2026 fiscal year, as no claims were filed during the public exhibition period. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba, number 173, dated September 7, 2026, with the official reference BOP-A-2026-3056.

The budget was initially approved by the City Council Plenary in an extraordinary session held on August 11, 2026, and was open for public inspection for fifteen business days via an announcement in the BOP of Córdoba, number 155, dated August 12, 2026. Since no objections were registered, and in accordance with article 169.1 of the Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law regulating Local Treasuries, the budget is considered definitively approved.

A consolidated budget of 35.3 million

The General Budget integrates the budget of the City Council itself, that of the Juan Rejano Foundation Autonomous Body, and the expenditure and income forecasts of the municipal companies EGEMASA and SODEPO, along with their annexes, execution bases, and the personnel roster.

• City Council Budget: €35,312,745.58 in expenditures and income.
• Consolidated Budget: €35,914,079.24 in expenditures and €35,927,207.97 in income.
• EGEMASA (Environmental Services and Management Company of Puente Genil SA): €7,148,632.54 in each statement.
• SODEPO (Company for the Development of Puente Genil SL): €9,049,553.67 in each statement.
• Juan Rejano Foundation: €9,636.13 in expenditures and €12,000.00 in income.

The most relevant items

In the City Council’s expenditure statement, current expenses on goods and services stand out with €12,442,483.62, followed by personnel expenses with €11,212,738.86, and current transfers with €9,603,604.98. In the real investment chapter, €160,000.00 is allocated, while the contingency fund amounts to €10,000.00.

On the income side, current transfers contribute €21,321,589.33, direct taxes €9,743,947.92, and fees, public prices, and other income €3,683,378.19. The definitive budget is available to the public on the municipal electronic office at the address https://puentegenil.es/presupuesto-municipal/.

2026 Personnel Roster

Along with the budget, the City Council’s Staffing Table for civil servants, contractual staff, and temporary employees for 2026 is published, detailing positions by sub-scales and areas. Among the civil servants with national qualification are the Secretary General, the Deputy Secretary General, the Comptroller, and the Treasurer, several of whom are currently in vacant positions. The contractual staff is organized by areas such as the Mayor’s Office, Treasury, General Secretariat, Security and Traffic, General Services, and Community Services, with positions ranging from laborers and construction officials to sports instructors, library assistants, and coordinators.

The final approval of the budget provides legal certainty to municipal management for the entire fiscal year, by establishing the credits with which the City Council and its companies will provide services to the residents of Puente Genil during 2026.
