Puebla de Sancho Pérez approves 526,288 euros for paving, lighting, and parks

The City Council of Puebla de Sancho Pérez has definitively approved budget modification file number 3-2026, under the modality of extraordinary credit and credit supplement, financed by the liquid treasury surplus. The agreement, signed by Mayor Samuel Ramírez Matos, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 165, dated August 28, 2026, via Announcement 3397/2026.
The modification, which amounts to a total of 526,288.86 euros, has become definitive as no objections were filed during the public exhibition period, in accordance with articles 169.1 and 169.3, by referral of article 177.2 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the consolidated text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries.
Extraordinary credits
The extraordinary credit allocation totals 310,000 euros and is distributed among four municipal service improvement actions:
- Asphalting of public roads: 120,000 euros.
- Public lighting in Belén and tourist huts: 100,000 euros.
- Conditioning of children’s playgrounds: 50,000 euros.
- Conditioning and equipment of tourist huts: 40,000 euros.
Credit supplement
The credit supplement amounts to 216,288.86 euros and increases several existing applications, including:
- Supplies for the Production Management Area of preferential consumption public goods: from 80,000 to 150,000 euros.
- Acquisition of machinery and tools: from 2,000 to 47,000 euros.
- Cultural activities (bullfighting agenda, women’s workshop): from 18,943 to 68,943 euros.
- Installation of public lighting in the surroundings of Belén and colada de Usagre: from 98,000 to 126,000 euros.
- Repairs, maintenance, and conservation of facilities: from 21,000 to 44,288.86 euros.
Financing and resources
The increase in expenditure is financed through the liquid treasury surplus, according to the following detail:
- Treasury surplus for general expenses (application 87000): 453,000 euros.
- Refunds from closed budgets (application 38900): 73,288.86 euros.
An administrative appeal may be filed against the agreement before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Extremadura within two months of publication, in accordance with article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, of the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction. The filing of the appeal shall not, by itself, suspend the effectiveness of the agreement.
The final approval of this budget modification allows the municipality to carry out direct investments in basic infrastructure and facilities that affect the daily lives of residents—from the condition of the streets to lighting and children’s and tourist leisure spaces—without resorting to new debt.
