Puebla de la Calzada expands its 2026 public employment offer
Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of Puebla de la Calzada has approved the expansion of its public employment offer for the 2026 fiscal year, incorporating a new labor staff position. The decision was adopted through Mayor’s resolution 2026-0724, dated September 2, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 170, dated September 4, 2026, under announcement 3505/2026.
The incorporated position corresponds to the category of Audiovisual Technician-Cultural Manager, group A2, and is called for through a competitive examination process (concurso-oposición). With this expansion, the council completes the public employment offer initially approved for the current year.
Case Background
The expansion is the result of a court ruling that declared a worker as indefinite non-permanent labor staff, which mandates the legal coverage of their position. According to permanent control report 2026-0008, dated February 2, 2026, since this position was not counted within the staff replacement rate, it had to be included in the public employment offer, following the modification of the personnel plantilla and the list of job positions (RPT).
The 2026 public employment offer was initially approved by Mayor’s resolution 2026-0321, dated April 29, 2026, published in BOP number 83, dated May 5, 2026, and in the Official Gazette of Extremadura number 89, dated May 12, 2026. Subsequently, the fourth modification of the RPT and the second modification of the 2026 budget plantilla were processed, and the expansion was negotiated in the negotiating commission held on June 22, 2026.
Details of the Called Position
The new position is integrated into the council’s labor staff regime:
- Category: Audiovisual Technician-Cultural Manager.
- Group/subgroup: A2.
- Destination Code (CD): 20.
- Number of positions: 1.
- Selection procedure: competitive examination (concurso-oposición).
Processing and Appeals
The resolution will be sent to the General State Administration and the Ministry of Finance and Civil Service, through the State Secretariat for Budgets and Expenditures, to certify the temporarily occupied positions. Likewise, the Plenary will be informed in the next session, and it will be published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura, the BOP of Badajoz, and on the City Council’s electronic office.
Against the resolution, interested parties may file an optional appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) before the Mayor’s office within one month of its publication, or a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court based in Mérida within two months. The resolution is signed by the mayor-president, Juan María Delfa Cupido.
The expansion of the public employment offer represents a new opportunity for stable hiring for the residents of Puebla de la Calzada, in a technical profile linked to the cultural and audiovisual management of the municipality. The call, processed via a competitive examination process, reinforces the city council’s commitment to consolidating jobs and providing legal coverage for positions occupied on a temporary basis.
