Publicaciones del Sur expands its corporate purpose to include shows

Publicaciones del Sur, S.A., a publishing house with its registered office in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), has convened its shareholders to an Ordinary General Meeting to submit for approval, among other points, the expansion of its corporate purpose toward the organization of public shows. The notice, agreed upon by the Administrative Body on September 2, 2026, was published in the Official Gazette of the Mercantile Registry (BORME) number 173, dated September 8, 2026, with reference BORME-C-2026-4884.

The meeting will be held at the registered office, at Calle de la Investigación, plot D-11, on the coming October 15, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. on the first call and, if applicable, on October 16 at the same place and time on the second call. The announcement is framed within the second section of the gazette, dedicated to announcements and legal notices, within the section for meeting notices.

A shift from the publishing sector toward entertainment

The central point of the agenda is the proposal for a statutory amendment to expand the corporate purpose to the organization, management, production, promotion, and execution of public shows of any kind. The measure represents a strategic move by the Jerez-based publisher toward the live entertainment business, an expanding sector that complements its traditional activity.

The new corporate purpose would encompass a wide range of activities, including:

• Theater performances, concerts, and music festivals.
• Audiovisual screenings, cultural competitions, and exhibitions.
• Fairs, animations, corporate events, and playful or recreational activities.
• Provision of artistic representation and contracting services.
• Rental and operation of scenic spaces and linked material resources.

Administrator remuneration and corporate website

Along with the expansion of the corporate purpose, the meeting will address the modification of the remuneration regime for the position of administrator, which would become a paid position, establishing its remuneration system in accordance with Article 217 of the Capital Companies Law and the maximum amount of the body’s annual remuneration for the current financial year.

Likewise, the creation of the company’s corporate website will be proposed for the purposes of Article 11 bis of the Capital Companies Law, with the consequent modification of the meeting notice regime to allow its publication through said channel. The agenda is completed with the approval of the annual accounts and the corporate management for the 2025 financial year, requests and questions, and the drafting and approval of the minutes.

Shareholders’ information rights

The announcement reminds partners that they may examine at the registered office and obtain free of charge the documents submitted for approval, as well as the management report, in accordance with Articles 197 and 272 of the Capital Companies Act. Pursuant to Article 287 of the same law, the right of all shareholders to examine the full text of the proposed statutory amendments and the justifying reports drafted by the administrative body is hereby stated.

The commitment of Publicaciones del Sur to shows and cultural events reflects the diversification currently undergoing in the Spanish publishing sector, which is seeking new revenue streams beyond print.
