Principality grants €343,734 for succession of agricultural holdings

The Ministry of Rural Affairs and Agricultural Policy of the Principality of Asturias has published the resolution granting subsidies to eight beneficiaries within the 2026 call for cooperation aid for the succession of agricultural holdings. The administrative act, dated 6 August 2026, is included in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) number 159, of 18 August 2026, with reference Code 2026-06729.

Regulatory framework and origin of the aid

The call was approved by Resolution of 30 December 2025 of the same ministry, whose extract was published in the BOPA of 8 January 2026. The regulatory bases were established by Resolution of 21 November 2024 (BOPA No. 235, of 3 December 2024). The aid falls within intervention 7169 of the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy of Spain (PEPAC) 2023-2027, approved by the European Commission’s implementing decision of 31 August 2022.

The funding is co-financed by three entities:

  • European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD): 60%
  • Principality of Asturias: 28%
  • Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA): 12%

Procedure and evaluation

During the submission period, eight applications were registered, with none received after the deadline and no withdrawals or waivers. The Regional Land Bank Commission processed the files, and the Evaluation Commission examined them in accordance with the criteria of the regulatory bases, issuing the evaluation minutes at its meeting of 24 June 2026.

Total amount and multi-year distribution

The total amount granted amounts to €343,734.30, distributed over five budget years (2026-2030) at €68,746.86 per year. The credit is charged to budget item 19.05.443B.773068 of the Principality of Asturias, with project code PEP 2026/000310.

The eight beneficiaries

The recipients of the subsidy, according to Annex I of the resolution, are:

  • María Belén Testón Testón — €25,168.20
  • Javier Méndez Díaz — €56,192.35
  • Belarmino Álvarez Manzano — €45,628.60
  • María Argentina Llera del Valle — €65,000.00
  • Manuel Hidalgo Arbás — €41,527.85
  • María Benigna Baltar Álvarez — €53,633.55
  • Senén Gutiérrez Martínez — €36,574.10
  • José Luis Agudín Fernández — €20,009.65

Obligations of the beneficiaries

Beneficiaries must justify compliance with the requirements demanded for payment, providing the supporting documentation within a maximum period of 4 months from the notification of the resolution. The payment request shall be made using the form available on the electronic office, with search code AYUD0505T02. These grants are incompatible with others awarded for the same purpose and, during the commitment period, beneficiaries may not apply for grants linked to agricultural activity financed with public resources, except for activities prior to the transfer of the holding.

The resolution was signed in Oviedo on 6 August 2026 by the Director General of Agricultural Planning, acting on behalf of the head of the department in accordance with the delegation of powers of 16 September 2025.
