Priego de Córdoba aprueba créditos extraordinarios y suplementos por 1,14 millones de euros

The City Council of Priego de Córdoba has definitively approved the extraordinary credit and credit supplement file number 27/2026, which increases the municipal budget for the 2026 financial year by 1,141,551.92 euros. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba number 211, dated Friday, October 30, 2026, under official reference BOP-A-2026-3691 (municipal file 2026/26847) and in the Local Administration section. The resolution opens the way for contentious-administrative appeals against the budget modification.

The announcement closes the procedure initiated weeks earlier. The initial approval agreement of the file was published in the Official Gazette of the Province number 193, on October 6, 2026, and was open for public inspection for fifteen days. After this period passed without any claims being filed, the initial approval is understood to have become definitive, as stated in the now-published text.

The modification is based on article 169.1 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, and affects the expenditure and income budget of the current financial year, which remains balanced after the operation.

Nearly one million euros for investments

The breakdown by chapters accompanying the announcement divides the increases into two blocks. Extraordinary credits amount to 195,290.77 euros, entirely within chapter 6. Credit supplements total 946,261.15 euros, distributed as follows:

  • Chapter 1, personnel expenses: 21,812.75 euros.
  • Chapter 2, current expenses for goods and services: 93,174.22 euros.
  • Chapter 4, current transfers: 41,096.10 euros.
  • Chapter 6, real investments: 790,178.08 euros.

The total increase to the expenditure budget reaches 1,141,551.92 euros. Of that figure, 985,468.85 euros correspond to chapter 6, i.e., investments, once the 195,290.77 euros in extraordinary credits and the 790,178.08 euros in supplements in that same chapter are added.

Financing through credit reductions and surplus

The operation is financed through two channels. On one hand, through credit reductions in other applications of the expenditure budget itself for 875,224.84 euros, divided among chapters 1 (812.75 euros), 4 (71,944.28 euros), 6 (757,412.09 euros) and 7 (45,055.72 euros). On the other, charged to the Treasury Surplus for General Expenses, which provides 266,327.08 euros through increases in chapter 8 of the income budget.

The sum of both sources coincides with the total increases, and the document concludes with a “balanced” result, with no imbalance between expenditures and income. The announcement appears signed in Priego de Córdoba, on October 29, 2026, by the mayor, Juan Ramón Valdivia Rosa.

Two months to go to court

An administrative appeal may be filed directly against the final approval within a period of two months starting from the day following the publication of the announcement. The text refers to articles 170 and 171 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004 and to the form and deadlines established by the regulations of the contentious-administrative jurisdiction, such that the count begins with the appearance of the announcement in the provincial bulletin on October 30, 2026.

The approval fully affects the accounts of the current fiscal year and arrives without objections from residents or other groups during the public information process, which confirms the municipal support for the operation. For residents and interested contractors, the key lies in the calendar: the new allocations, with nearly one million euros in investments, are already firm, but any challenge must be formalized before the two-month period that begins with this official publication expires.
