President appoints Lionel Yee to act as Attorney-General for five days

Lionel Yee Woon Chin, the Deputy Attorney-General, has been appointed to act as Attorney-General from 22 September 2026 to 26 September 2026 in place of Lucien Wong Yuen Kuai. The appointment was made by the President, concurring with the advice of the Prime Minister, and is published as Gazette Notification No. 5466 in the Republic of Singapore Government Gazette. The notification was first published on 21 September 2026 at 5 pm.

The notice appears in the Appointments section of the gazette issue dated Friday, 25 September 2026. It states that the President “is pleased to appoint” the Deputy Attorney-General to act in the office for the five-day period, both dates inclusive, and carries the administrative file reference [AG/CSD/HRCOE/PGAZ/LO/2026]. No reason for the arrangement is given in the notification.
