President appoints Lionel Yee to act as Attorney-General for five days

The President, concurring with the advice of the Prime Minister, has appointed Lionel Yee Woon Chin, Deputy Attorney-General, to act as Attorney-General from 22 September 2026 to 26 September 2026, both dates inclusive, in place of Lucien Wong Yuen Kuai. The appointment is published as Gazette Notification No. 5466 in the Republic of Singapore Government Gazette of 21 September 2026, under the heading “Appointment”.

The notice is issued “for general information” and carries the file reference AG/CSD/HRCOE/PGAZ/LO/2026. It was first published on the gazette’s website, www.egazette.gov.sg, on 21 September 2026 at 5 pm. The change is temporary and concerns the office at the head of the Attorney-General’s Chambers, which appears throughout the same gazette as the source of prosecutorial authority in Singapore.

Why it matters
