The Official Journal of the French Republic (JORF No. 0210 of September 9, 2026) has published a vacancy notice for the position of Director of the Steering and Resources Hub of the Departmental Directorate of Public Finances (DDFiP) of Gard. A Key Position within the Command Team
As the deputy to the director, the head of the steering and resources hub is part of the directorate’s command team. He or she participates in the steering of the directorate in all its dimensions and represents the director to the services and external authorities or partners. The holder exercises direct authority over three divisions:
- human resources and professional training;
- activity control, strategy, and major projects;
- management of budgetary, real estate, and logistical resources, state property missions and real estate policy, and eco-responsibility.
The scope of competencies covers major issues of the DGFiP strategic roadmap (COM 2023-2027): modernization of HR management, ecological transition, digital transformation, and steering of operational efficiency. The hub head also occupies a central place in social dialogue.
A Department with Significant Challenges
The DGFiP, a network directorate established throughout the territory, has approximately 94,600 agents (91,400 full-time equivalents). It ensures tax management, executes the revenues and expenditures of the State and most public administrations, fights tax fraud, and maintains public accounting.
The DDFiP of Gard carries out its missions in an Occitanie department of 750,000 inhabitants, marked by a relatively high level of poverty and unemployment. Its varied economic fabric (small businesses, industrial basins, agricultural activities) and its 350 municipalities structure the local challenges. The directorate has nearly 800 agents divided between the management services and 24 decentralized services, under the responsibility of Director Christine BESSOU-NICAISE, assisted by two deputies.
Profile, Conditions, and Application
Candidates must demonstrate proven managerial skills, a strategic vision, and an ability to master the technical knowledge of the hub (HR and budgetary management, real estate strategy). For civil servants, membership in a Category A corps or the holding of a position of equivalent level is required, as well as at least 6 years of diversified professional activities.
The incumbent will be appointed for three years, renewable up to a limit of six years, with a probationary period of six months. The remuneration, falling under group VII and level IV, includes a fixed portion between 34,000 and 55,000 euros gross per year, to which a variable portion capped at 27,000 euros may be added based on results. The recruiting authority is the Director General of Public Finances.
