Portos de Galicia somete a información pública a nova lonxa de Esteiro

Portos de Galicia has submitted for public information the processing of the administrative concession that will allow the Confraría de Pescadores de Muros (Muros Fishermen’s Guild) to occupy facilities in the public port domain for a fish market and a storage facility for fishing and shellfish gathering gear in the port of Esteiro. The announcement, agreed upon on October 28, 2026, by the Zona Centro of the port entity, is published in the Diario Oficial de Galicia (DOG) no. 213, Friday, November 6, 2026, under file 12-39-26-C-1. Starting the day following the publication, a period of twenty business days is open to examine the file and present allegations.

The procedure stems from the Resolution to initiate the process signed by the Presidency of Portos de Galicia on September 28, 2026, which led to the processing of the concession in favor of the Muros guild. The file affects the facilities identified as 12.39.EDF.002, located in the port of Esteiro and intended for both fish market activities and the storage of fishing gear.

The publication is carried out for the purposes provided for in Article 70 of Law 6/2017, of December 12, on Portos de Galicia, published in DOG no. 236, of December 14, a regulation that governs the occupation of the public port domain by concessionaires.

A valued report as a technical basis

The processing is supported by the technical document “Valued Report: conditioning of the Esteiro fish market,” signed on December 23, 2025, by the technical architect Bruno Ferreiro López, collegiate number 3039. This work defines the actions planned for the port facilities that are now subject to public exhibition.

The essential data of the file are as follows:

  • Promoter: Confraría de Pescadores de Muros.
  • Object: fish market and storage for fishing and shellfish gathering gear.
  • Facilities: 12.39.EDF.002, in the port of Esteiro.
  • Processing body: Zona Centro of Portos de Galicia.
  • File: 12-39-26-C-1.
  • Initiation of process: resolution of the Presidency of Portos de Galicia of September 28, 2026.
  • Public information agreement: October 28, 2026.

Twenty business days to allege

Interested persons and entities may consult the file at the Zona Centro offices, located at Avenida do Porto, number 5, first floor, 15006 A Coruña. The period to submit in writing any allegations deemed appropriate is twenty business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Diario Oficial de Galicia.

The procedure documentation is also available on the corporate website of the port entity, www.portosdegalicia.com, as stated in the announcement itself. The agreement is signed by the head of Zona Centro, Lorena Solana Barjacoba.

The fishing sector of Esteiro, awaiting processing

The concession affects infrastructure directly linked to extractive activity and the first sale of fresh product. The fish market (lonxa) and the gear store are the spaces where the local fleet lands, classifies, and markets catches, in addition to storing fishing and shellfish gathering gear.

The public information period now opens the window for participation for anyone who may be affected by the occupation of the public port domain. The announcement does not set any execution deadline or investment associated with the conditioning works, which are detailed in the valued report incorporated into the file.

The processing remains pending the resolution adopted by Portos de Galicia once the allegations procedure has been completed and the documentation submitted by the interested parties has been analyzed.

The publication in the Diario Oficial de Galicia makes this announcement the official channel for shipowners, shellfish gatherers, guilds, and neighbors to learn the scope of the concession and raise objections before it is resolved. For the fishing and shellfish sector of the area, the outcome of the processing will determine the availability of the facilities where a large part of the daily operations of the port of Esteiro are concentrated.
