Ponteceso puts its flood plan out for public exhibition

The Ponteceso City Council is opening for public consultation its Municipal Action Plan against the Risk of Flooding, a security and emergency document affecting all residents living in flood-prone areas. The decision was adopted through Mayoral Resolution no. 534/2026, dated September 4, 2026, and the announcement was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) number 176, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, under announcement number 2026/5922.

The plan will be available to the public for 20 business days, starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the BOP. During this period, interested parties may submit any allegations they deem appropriate, either in person or electronically.

Legal framework and background

The processing responds to the provisions of Article 33.1 of Law 5/2007, of May 7, on emergencies in Galicia, and Article 83 of Law 39/2025, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure of public administrations. The file is processed under number 2026/X006/000081.

The document constitutes a civil protection planning instrument that defines the actions to be carried out during flooding episodes, a recurring risk in a coastal and river municipality such as Ponteceso.

Where to consult the plan

The plan can be consulted during the public exhibition period at the following points:

• In person, at the municipal offices of the Ponteceso City Council, located at rúa Concello, 18, 15110 Ponteceso (A Coruña), Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 14:00 hours.
• Electronically, on the notice board of the municipal electronic office: https://sede.ponteceso.gal/sxc/es/informacion/

Deadline for allegations

Interested parties have the full period of 20 business days to formulate their allegations, which must be submitted within the aforementioned deadline. The announcement was signed in Ponteceso on September 9, 2026, by the mayor, José Manuel Mato Martínez.

The final approval of the plan, once the allegations have been resolved, will provide the municipality with an operational instrument to coordinate the response to floods, protect people and property, and organize the action of emergency services, a matter of direct interest to all residents who live or work in risk areas.
