Plasencia expone 30 días el reglamento de condecoraciones de su Policía Local

The Plasencia City Council has opened the public information process for the Regulations on Decorations and Distinctions of its Local Police, initially approved by the Plenary of the Corporation in an ordinary session on October 15, 2026. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 212, dated November 5, 2026, within Section I (Local Administration), with official reference BOP-2026-5166. The text will be on display for 30 business days so that interested parties may examine it and submit allegations.

Thirty business days to examine and claim

The enabled period is 30 business days, during which interested persons may examine the regulations and present any claims they deem appropriate before the Plenary of the Corporation, the sole body competent to resolve them according to the announcement itself.

The essential points of the process are:

  • Initial approval by the Plenary in an ordinary session on October 15, 2026.
  • Public display of the text for 30 business days.
  • Submission of claims before the Plenary of the Corporation.
  • Automatic elevation to definitive status if no allegations are registered.

The announcement was signed in Plasencia on October 30, 2026, by the mayor, David Casimiro Dóniga Estévez, and is disseminated with electronic verification through the provincial body’s portal.

From initial to definitive approval

The planned mechanism is the standard one for the processing of local regulations: if no claims are made during the public information period, the initial agreement “will be elevated to definitive” without the need for a new plenary pronouncement. Only if there are allegations must the matter return to the Plenary’s agenda for an express resolution before entering into force.

The regulation, therefore, reaches its final administrative phase with the support of the Plenary and lacking only the public hearing process, according to the published announcement.

A Plenary with extensive regulatory production

The regulations on decorations are added to other files resolved by the Plasencia Plenary in the same session on October 15, 2026. On that date, the Regulations for the Valuation, Conservation, and Elimination of Documents of the Municipal Archive were definitively approved, published in the BOP of Cáceres number 207, dated October 28, 2026, as well as the Municipal Action Plan against the Risk of Forest Fires, disseminated in number 204, dated October 23, 2026.

Municipal regulatory activity regarding police matters is also not new this autumn. The Plasencia City Council already approved on July 31, 2026, the Regulation of the Second Activity of the Local Police, published in the BOP of Cáceres number 154, of August 13, 2026 (reference BOP-2026-3841), which regulates the special administrative status of the career civil servant personnel of the Corps and was issued, according to its statement of motives, within the framework of Organic Law 2/1986, of March 13, on Security Forces and Corps, and Law 7/2017, of August 1, on the Coordination of Local Police of Extremadura. To this is added the call to fill one position of Local Police Officer through internal promotion, with file 402/2026.

Why it matters

The regulation directly affects the Local Police staff and their union representatives, who may appeal the criteria for granting distinctions, as well as citizens and entities eligible to receive recognitions from the Corps. The opening of the period is the last opportunity to modify the text before it acquires definitive validity.
