Plasencia announces grants for women's and equality associations

The Plasencia City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres (number 0176, dated September 15, 2026) the summary of the regulatory bases and the call for grants intended for associations that carry out activities in favor of women and gender equality for the year 2026. The call, identified with number BDNS 928092 in the National Grants Database, is processed through competitive bidding and was signed by the mayor-president, David Casimiro Dóniga Estévez, on September 7, 2026.
The announcement is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Grants Law, and the full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database and on the municipal website.
Purpose and amount of the call
The purpose of the call is the granting, through competitive bidding, of subsidies for the promotion of activities provided for in the projects submitted by associations working in favor of women and the effective implementation of gender equality. Subsidies are provided for both activities for the development and promotion of the associative movement and the participation of women, as well as the operating expenses of said entities, provided that their area of operation is the municipality of Plasencia.
- The total amount of grants to be awarded shall not exceed 11,000.00 euros.
- The maximum amount per beneficiary association shall be 3,000.00 euros.
- The grant may not exceed 75% of the total budget of the subsidized project.
- There is sufficient credit in item 0105-23115-48930 of the 2026 budget.
The Local Government Board reserves the right not to use the total amount provided.
Requirements for beneficiary entities
Associations that carry out activities in favor of women and gender equality and meet the following conditions may apply:
- Be legally constituted and registered in the Municipal Registry of Associations of the City Council at the time of the approval of the call.
- Be part of the Municipal Women’s Council at the time of the approval of the call.
- Have the municipality of Plasencia as their area of operation.
- Have justified the grants received from the City Council in previous years.
- Not fall under any of the circumstances provided for in article 13.2 of Law 38/2003, General Grants Law.
Deadline and method of submission
In accordance with Article 14 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure, all documentation must be submitted by electronic means, addressed to the Honorable Mayor of the City Council of Plasencia, within a period of thirty calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP.
If the applications do not meet the requirements or are not accompanied by the required documentation, the interested party will be requested to rectify the application within a maximum and non-extendable period of 10 days, with the indication that, should they fail to do so, they will be considered to have withdrawn their application.
Relevance for the associative fabric
This call represents direct financial support for the feminist associative fabric of Plasencia, which channels the participation of entities in local equality policies through the Municipal Women’s Council. The funding of activities and operating expenses allows associations to sustain their work during the 2026 fiscal year, within a framework of competitive bidding that guarantees transparency and equal opportunities among the applying entities.
