Piera modifies the public employment offer and adds a position for a middle technician

The Piera City Council has approved the modification of the public employment offer for the vacant civil servant positions within its staff for the year 2026. The agreement was adopted via Mayoral Decree number 2026-1768, dated August 6, 2026, and was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona on September 3, 2026, under the official reference CVE 202610136977.

The resolution, signed by the mayor, M. Carme González Anjaumà, on September 1, 2026, readjusts the table of positions to be filled and incorporates a new vacancy compared to the initial call. The modification is part of the ordinary management of the municipal staff and will be processed, in accordance with article 57.2 of Decree 214/1990, of July 30, which approves the Regulations for personnel in the service of local entities, in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Directorate General of Local Administration of the Generalitat.

What changes in the offer

The modification maintains almost all of the positions initially planned and adds a new vacancy. The resulting table of civil servant personnel for the year 2026 is configured as follows:

• Senior Technician (group A1), open access, by competitive examination: 1 vacancy (General Administration).
• Senior Technician (group A1), open access, by competitive examination: 1 vacancy (Special Administration).
• Intermediate Technician (group A2), open access, by competitive examination: 1 vacancy (new addition).
• Corporal of Local Police (group C1), by internal promotion: 1 vacancy.
• Officer of Local Police (group C1), open access, by competitive examination: 2 vacancies.

The main novelty is, therefore, the addition of an intermediate technician position (group A2) in the Special Administration scale, which did not appear in the previous wording of the offer.

Procedure and publicity

The agreement provides for the publication of the modification in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona and the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya, without prejudice to the communication to the organs of the State Administration for coordinated publication with the rest of the public employment offers of public administrations. Likewise, a copy will be sent to the Directorate General of Local Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

The resolution also establishes the publication of the modification on the notice board of the electronic headquarters of the Piera City Council and the transmission of the agreement to the union representatives of the corporation, thus guaranteeing the transparency of the process for applicants and social agents.

The modification of the 2026 OPE expands the opportunities for access to local public employment in Piera, especially for intermediate-level technical profiles, who now have their own position in the open entry category.
