Pedrera announces temporary employment call against social exclusion with 42,624 euros

The Pedrera City Council has approved the call and the regulatory bases for the 2026 Social Exclusion Prevention Program, endowed with 42,624.32 euros granted by the Provincial Council of Seville. The decision was formalized through Mayoral Resolution No. 1513/2026, dated September 17, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville number 183, dated September 21, 2026, with the official reference BOP-SE-2026-183016. Unemployed persons registered in the municipality may apply for the planned temporary contracts.

The program is part of the Provincial Social Cohesion and Equality Plan 2024-2027, approved for the 2026 financial year by the Plenary of the Provincial Council of Seville in the session of January 29, 2026, and definitively in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville number 41, dated March 2, 2026, with a correction of errors in number 43, dated March 4, 2026. The Pedrera City Council requested its adherence to the program approved by the provincial Plenary on June 26, 2026, and Resolution No. 5829/2026, dated August 20, 2026, from the Provincial Council of Seville, approved the granting of aid to local entities in the province, with 42,624.32 euros corresponding to Pedrera.

The initiative, previously called the Municipal Urgency Program, has been developed within the provincial scope since 2013 and its purpose is to alleviate situations of need arising from the persistent difficulty of accessing the labor market for groups in social exclusion or at risk of being so.

Requirements and income thresholds

Final beneficiaries may be individuals living alone or part of a family unit in social exclusion or at risk of being so, provided they meet the conditions set out in the bases:

• Be registered in the municipality as of January 1, 2026.
• Provide proof of unemployment status.
• Not exceed the income thresholds referred to the IPREM: up to 1.5 times for single-member units, 1.8 for two, 2.1 for three, 2.4 for four, and 2.7 for five, with an increase of 0.30 times for each additional member from the sixth onwards.
• Submit the mandatory social report issued by the municipal social worker.

The IPREM remains frozen at 2023 values: 20.00 euros daily, 600.00 euros monthly, and 7,200.00 euros annually. Computable income is the average of the twelve months prior to the start of the application period.

Deadlines, applications, and scoring

The application period is fifteen business days from the day following the publication of the guidelines in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville. Applications are submitted electronically via the municipal electronic office or in paper format at the Registry of the Community Social Services Center, Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:00 hours, where the Annex I form can also be collected.

The Technical Commission, composed of municipal employees from the Social Services Area and other areas of the Pedrera City Council, will score the applications. Priority will be given to those who have not been recipients of the program in the previous three years; family units with less than 50 percent of the required IPREM will be valued with up to 12 points, women victims of gender-based violence with 6 points, and membership in units with minors, people with disabilities, or dependents under their care with 5 points. The period for correction and the period for appeals are three business days each.

Hiring and allocation of funds

The grants will be allocated entirely to temporary employment contracts for people with severe socioeconomic problems, with a special emphasis on community-based work. All contracts must be completed by December 31, 2027, and may not replace previous leaves or vacancies. There is no employment link between the hired persons and the Provincial Council of Seville, with the Pedrera City Council being the sole responsible party. The number of recipients is subject to the granted subsidy and municipal needs, and appearing on the list of proposed candidates does not generate an automatic right to a contract.

The call reaches a municipality with persistent unemployment and offers a means of minimum income and improved employability for the most vulnerable families, in addition to allowing the Pedrera City Council to execute small works of social interest with temporarily hired personnel.
