Por FactBox Admin

The Plenary of the Pedreguer City Council definitively approved on July 30, 2026, the credit modification 6/2026 of the current budget, in the form of a credit supplement, for a total amount of 621,866.22 euros. The measure, financed from the liquid treasury surplus, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante number 169, dated September 7, 2026, for general knowledge.

The definitive approval occurs after no allegations were presented during the public exhibition period. The file is processed under Article 169.1, by referral of 179.4, of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which regulates the approval and publication of budget modifications for local entities.

A supplement for municipal investments

The modification expands the credit of five budget applications, with the bulk of the allocation destined for works and equipment. The largest amount corresponds to the paving of public roads, with 530,000 euros, followed by the improvement of the Les Galgues industrial estate, with 60,000 euros. The remainder is distributed among repairs, machinery, and sports equipment.

  • Repair and conservation of sports facilities: 9,912.73 euros.
  • Paving of public roads: 530,000 euros.
  • Acquisition of machinery and installations for sports buildings: 15,953.49 euros.
  • Acquisition of a shovel/loader: 6,000 euros.
  • Improvement works for the Les Galgues industrial estate: 60,000 euros.

Financing with treasury surplus

The credit supplement is fully financed from the treasury surplus for general expenses, for the same amount of 621,866.22 euros, under economic application 870.00. In this way, the council does not resort to new debt or higher tax revenues to meet these investments, but rather uses the liquid resources available in its treasury.

Deadlines and appeals

Against the agreement, pursuant to Article 171.1 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, based in Valencia, within two months from the publication of the announcement, in accordance with Article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, of the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction. The filing of the appeal shall not by itself suspend the effectiveness of the contested agreement, as provided in Article 171.3 of the aforementioned regulation. The agreement is signed by the acting mayor, Celia Mas Puchol.

The publication of this budget modification allows the residents of Pedreguer to know the destination of municipal resources and exercise their rights of appeal within the legal timeframes. The commitment to road paving and the improvement of the Les Galgues industrial estate reflects the council’s priority for urban mobility and local economic development, in an exercise of budgetary transparency that is consolidated with the official dissemination of the agreement.
