Rodicio II Wind Farm: expropriation for public information

The Territorial Department of Ourense of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change submits for public information the request for a declaration of public utility (DUP), specifically with the need for urgent occupation, of the Rodicio II wind farm project, promoted by Engie Proyecto Rodicio II, S.L.U. (file IN408A 2020/042). The decision was adopted by agreement on July 16, 2026, signed by the territorial director Mª José Fernández Laso, and published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 162, of August 27, 2026 (p. 46828).
The wind farm, with 10.4 MW of installed and evacuable power, will be installed in the municipalities of Maceda and Montederramo (Ourense). The declaration of public utility will imply the need for occupation of assets and urgent occupation, which directly affects the owners of the properties included in the list of affected assets and rights (RBDA).
Project Background
The project has already passed through several previous administrative phases. On 3.2.2021, the Territorial Headquarters of the Second Vice-Presidency and Ministry of Economy, Enterprise and Innovation of Ourense submitted for public information the request for prior administrative authorization, the DUP, and the construction authorization (DOG no. 39, of February 26, 2021). Subsequently, on 12.4.2023, the General Directorate of Energy Planning and Natural Resources granted the prior administrative and construction authorization (DOG no. 87, of May 8, 2023).
Technical Characteristics
- Installed and authorized/evacuable power: 10.4 MW.
- Number of wind turbines: 2 × 5.2 MW of unit nominal power.
- Net production: 28,690 MWh/year.
- Net equivalent hours: 2,795 h.
- Execution budget by contract: 8,064,620.85 euros.
Expropriation and Period for Allegations
The exhibited documentation includes the specific and individualized list of affected assets and rights (RBDA), the report (edition 01, of 18.6.2026), Annex I of plans, and the individualized sheets (May 2025). Affected owners, as well as holders of real rights or omitted economic interests, may examine the documentation and present allegations within a period of thirty (30) days from the publication in the DOG.
The documentation can be consulted at the Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Service of the Territorial Department (rúa Curros Enríquez, no. 1, 3rd floor, Ourense), Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00 hours, in the affected municipalities, and on the Ministry’s website. The processing is based on Law 24/2013 of the electricity sector, Law 8/2009 on wind energy utilization in Galicia, Royal Decree 1955/2000, and the Compulsory Expropriation Law of December 16, 1954.
The publication opens a key period for local owners, who will be able to file claims before the urgent occupation of their lands is executed for the construction of energy infrastructure of supra-municipal relevance.
