Por FactBox Admin

The Pantón City Council opens the voluntary payment period for water, waste, sewage fees, and the Xunta de Galicia water canon corresponding to the first two months of 2026. This is announced by the Provincial Deputation of Lugo through a collective notification edict and a collection announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo number 194, Wednesday, August 26, 2026, under reference R. 2214.
The collective notification is carried out under article 102.3 of Law 58/2003, General Tax Law, of December 17, and affects all taxpayers of the council included in the registers for the period. The document is signed by the president of the Deputation, María del Carmen López Moreno, dated August 10, 2026.
Consultation of registers and exhibition period
The registers may be consulted by interested parties at the Tax Management, Collection and Inspection Service of the Deputation (Ronda Muralla, 140, Pavilion 1, 27004 Lugo) and at the Pantón City Council itself, during a period of fifteen days starting from the publication of the announcement in the gazette.
The settlements are provisional in nature, according to article 101.4 of the General Tax Law. An appeal for reversal may be filed against them before the competent body of the Council within one month from the day following the end of the exhibition, as well as any other appeal deemed appropriate, by virtue of article 14.2 of the Recast Text of the Law regulating Local Treasuries.
Voluntary period and collaborating entities
The payment period for voluntary payment runs from August 26 to October 26, 2026, both inclusive, in accordance with articles 24 and 25 of the General Collection Regulations (Royal Decree 939/2005, of July 29). Payment can be made at any office of the collaborating entities, on business days from Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 14:00 hours:
- ABANCA
- CaixaBank (La Caixa)
- Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA)
- Banco Sabadell
- Caixa Rural Galega
- Banco Santander
Payment can also be made through any enabled channel with extended hours (ATMs, internet, and electronic banking), at the Electronic Office of the Deputation (Taxpayer Portal), or by postal transfer from any Correos office. Persons who do not receive or who lose the payment document may request a new one at the banking entity.
Direct debit and executive proceedings
The payment of taxes can be set up for direct debit for successive years at savings banks, banks, and other financial entities, by filling out the direct debit form that accompanies the collection document and sending it to the Tax Management and Collection Service or delivering it to any of the aforementioned entities.
Once the voluntary period has elapsed, the debts shall be made effective through enforcement proceedings, including the surcharges of the executive period and the corresponding late-payment interest, according to articles 26 and 28 of Law 58/2003. Failure to pay the water canon and the discharge coefficient will result in their direct demand from the taxpayer by the competent department for treasury matters of the Xunta de Galicia, and its repercussion may be subject to an economic-administrative claim before the economic-administrative body of the Autonomous Community within one month.
The publication of this edict allows the residents of Pantón to know the tax obligations of the bimonthly period in advance and regularize their payment within the deadline, thus avoiding surcharges and late-payment interest. Direct debit and electronic channels facilitate compliance without the need for travel, in a management process that the Deputación de Lugo centralizes on behalf of the council.
