Palau-saverdera opens grants of up to 90 euros for ESO materials

The City Council of Palau-saverdera has announced grants for the acquisition of academic materials for compulsory secondary education (ESO) for the 2026-2027 academic year, with a total budget of 3,201.18 euros and a maximum of 90 euros per student. The agreement of the Local Governing Board dated September 21, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona no. 186, dated September 28, 2026, with the official reference CVE BOP-2026_0_186_8295 (edict no. 8295, pp. 1-2).

The summary is disseminated in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the full text of the call can be consulted in the National Grants Database with the identifier 931197. The regulatory bases for these grants were approved by the City Council Plenary on September 23, 2024, and were published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona no. 234, dated December 5, 2024.

Requirements and beneficiaries

Fathers, mothers, legal guardians, or persons temporarily or permanently in charge of the guardianship of the students may apply for the grants, provided that the following conditions are met:

• Be registered as a resident in the municipality of Palau-saverdera and maintain effective residence there throughout the academic year for which the grant is requested.
• Be enrolled in an ESO course during 2026-2027.
• Be up to date with tax obligations to the Palau-saverdera City Council, the Public Treasury, and Social Security.

Amount and covered expenses

The allocation for the grants is 3,201.18 euros and is charged to item 231/480.00.03 (school book grants) of the 2026 budget. The amount of the grant corresponds to 100% of the acquisition cost of the mandatory academic material for the 2026-2027 course, with a cap of 90 euros per student.

Expenses derived from the acquisition of reading books, dictionaries, school planners, and other complementary material are excluded from this concept.

Applications, deadlines, and appeals

The deadline for submitting applications will be determined in the corresponding annual call and shall in no case exceed fifteen business days from the day following the publication of the call in the gazette. Applications are formalized using a standardized form, available at the Citizen Service Office (OAC) and on the municipal website, accompanied by the following documentation:

• DNI, NIE or passport of the applicant, only in the case of an in-person application.
• Family book or other documents proving the family relationship with the student.
• Receipt or invoice for the purchase of academic materials and proof of payment.
• Bank details for the transfer of the amount, if the expense is subsidized.
• Declaration of other subsidies or income for the same purpose and a commitment to communicate any future ones.
• Authorizations to consult data from the AEAT (Tax Agency), Social Security, and municipal collection.

The deadline to resolve the granting of the aid is 40 business days from the day following the submission of the applications. The resolution exhausts the administrative route, and an appeal for reversal may be filed against it within one month or, directly, a contentious-administrative appeal before the contentious-administrative courts of the province of Girona within two months.

The resolution will be notified personally to the beneficiaries and will be published on the notice board and on the electronic office of the City Council, as well as in the National Database of Subsidies for dissemination purposes. The first and last names of the beneficiaries will remain published on the municipal website, www.palau-saverdera.cat, for a period of five years.
