Palafrugell announces two vacancies for event specialist technician

The Palafrugell City Council has opened the call to fill two positions for event specialist technician (group C1), as career civil servants. The process, by open competitive examination, was approved by Mayoral Resolution 2026/1890 of September 1, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona (no. 176, edict 7872, of September 14).

The call is framed within the personnel selection regulations for local entities, in accordance with Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015 (Basic Statute of the Public Employee) and Decree 214/1990 of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The positions are assigned to the role of executive producer in the Culture Area, with destination level 18.

The positions and the job role

The two positions correspond to the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Special Categories. Position 1 has a 100% full-time workday and position 2 has an 80% ordinary workday. The main functions are to execute the technical production of the Culture Area’s activities, curate exhibitions, and coordinate the cleaning and maintenance of the facilities.

Requirements and submission of applications

Interested persons must meet, among others:

• Hold Spanish nationality or that of an EU member state (or spouses and descendants under the provided terms).
• Be between 16 years of age and the compulsory retirement age.
• Possess an intermediate vocational training cycle, baccalaureate, or equivalent qualification.
• Accredit C1 level knowledge of Catalan and, for non-Spaniards, C1 level of Spanish.
• Not be disqualified nor incur causes of incompatibility.

Applications must be submitted exclusively electronically via the City Council’s electronic office, within a period of 20 calendar days starting from the day after publication in the DOGC.

The selection process

The process consists of two phases:

• Opposition phase (up to 60 points): theoretical test of 25 multiple-choice questions (minimum 12.5 points), practical case test (minimum 17.5 points), and Catalan and Spanish language tests (pass/fail).
• Competition phase (up to 30 points): evaluation of training (up to 8 points), professional experience (up to 12 points), ACTIC certificate (up to 1 point), and superior knowledge of Catalan (0.5 points).

The tribunal will be chaired by the coordinator of the Personal Services Area, with technical members and a representative from the Public Administration School of Catalonia. The annexed syllabus includes 40 topics, of which 8 are general and 32 are specific to show production, lighting, sound, video, and security.
