Pajares de Adaja sets the usage fee for its municipal padel court

Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of Pajares de Adaja has definitively approved the fiscal ordinance regulating the fee for the use of the municipal padel court, which sets the usage price between 8 and 10 euros per hour and establishes a sanctioning regime with fines of up to 3,000 euros. The regulation is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila, number 161, dated August 21, 2026, and will enter into force the day following its publication.

The agreement, adopted by the Plenary in a session held on June 18, 2026, as a provisional approval, is now elevated to definitive as no claims were filed during the public exhibition period. The text, signed by Mayor Federico Farelo Samaniego on August 11, 2026, is based on the municipal competence for the promotion of sports as set out in Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of Local Regime, and in Royal Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries.

Fees and reservation

The fee is accrued at the time of reservation or upon use without prior reservation, and to access the facility, it is necessary to register in the mobile application determined by the City Council. The rates are set as follows:

  • One hour of use: €8.00.
  • One and a half hours of use: €10.00.
  • Surcharge of €0.50 per reservation for the option to use lighting, which is reserved through the application.

The rental schedule is from 9:00 to 22:00 hours, except on weekends and holidays, for which there is no fixed schedule. No discounts will be applied except those provided by law or specific agreements, and there are no refunds in the event of an unused reservation.

Rules of use and blocks

The ordinance details the conditions for using the facility, most notably the prohibition of access for children under twelve without adult supervision, the entry of animals, the consumption of food and alcoholic beverages, smoking, bringing in glass bottles, or using studded shoes. Users who do not appear within fifteen minutes of the reservation time will lose their right of use, which is considered a minor infringement and may lead to usage blocks of 10 calendar days, with a cumulative maximum of 30 days.

Sanctioning regime

The text distinguishes three degrees of infringements with their corresponding fines:

  • Very serious (illegal access, serious disturbance, impeding use, serious deterioration): fine of 1,501 to 3,000 euros and a definitive ban on access.
  • Serious (damage to the facilities): fine of 751 to 1,500 euros, with an entry ban of up to six months.
  • Minor (unused reservation, late cancellation, or other non-compliances): fine of 30 to 750 euros, with a ban on new reservations for one month and a temporary entry ban of up to three months.

The imposition of sanctions is the responsibility of the Mayor’s Office, following the processing of the corresponding sanctioning file.

Impact for residents

With this ordinance, the City Council of Pajares de Adaja regularizes the use of a general-use municipal sports facility, establishing a clear framework of fees, reservations, and responsibilities for local users and athletes. The regulation will remain in force until its modification or express repeal is agreed upon, and interested parties may appeal the agreement before the contentious-administrative jurisdiction.
