Por FactBox Admin

The Padrón City Council opens the call for competitive grants aimed at non-profit sports entities for the promotion and support of sports activities during the year 2026. The call, approved by the mayor’s resolution on August 31, 2026, was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 172, on September 9, 2026, under announcement number 2026/5736.
The grants, funded by budget allocation 341/480.03, have a total credit of 18,000 euros, with a maximum grantable amount of 3,000 euros per entity. The request may not exceed 80% of the planned or actual expenditure budget, and VAT will not be considered grantable in any case.
Object and beneficiaries
The purpose of the call is to cover expenses derived from participation in federated competitions and the organization of sporting events within the municipal district. The activities are classified into two types:
- Competitive activity: participation and/or achievement of results in competitions within the federative scope or recognized by the regional sports administration.
- Organization of extraordinary sporting events: competitions with an annual or greater periodicity held in the Municipality of Padrón.
Sports entities that meet these requirements may be beneficiaries:
- Be non-profit.
- Carry out their activities within the municipal district of Padrón.
- Be registered in the Municipal Registry of Associations of the Council.
- Have no pending justification for any municipal grant.
- Not be subject to the prohibitions of Article 13 of the General Grants Law.
Deadline and processing
Applications shall be submitted electronically via the Council’s electronic office (sede.padron.gal) within a period of 15 calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the summary of the call in the BOP, through the National Grant Publication System. The documentation includes the standardized application, the statutes, the CIF, the federative certification and, depending on the type of aid, the corresponding annexes.
The evaluation will be carried out by a commission composed of the mayor or the member of the Corporation to whom they delegate, the delegated councilor for sports, the sports technician, the secretary José Marcelino Rivera Rarís and the substitute secretary María Dolores Vázquez González. The grant proposal will be audited by the Municipal Intervention and submitted to the Local Government Board, which will resolve by October 31, 2026, at the latest.
Scoring criteria
For competitive activity, up to 100 points are awarded, distributed among the relevance of the modality and the level of competition (up to 25), the number of federative licenses with special attention to youth categories and gender equality (up to 50), the activity report (up to 10), collaboration with events from the Department of Sports (up to 10), and competitions aimed at people with disabilities (up to 5). For the organization of extraordinary events, up to 50 points are awarded, assessing the report, the number of participants, general interest, tourist or economic impact, and tradition in organization.
The amount of each grant will be calculated by multiplying the points obtained by the value of the point, which results from dividing the total credit by the sum of points of all applications. Beneficiaries must justify the expenditure without extension by the deadline of November 15, 2026, and payment will be made once the expenses have been fully justified.
Relevance
This call represents direct support for the local sporting fabric of Padrón, allowing non-profit clubs to finance travel, equipment, licenses, and the organization of competitions in the municipality. The resolution, signed by Mayor Anxo Rei Arca, reinforces the municipal commitment to grassroots sports, gender equality, and inclusion, by rewarding female licenses and adapted competitions.
