Pájara calls for 250,000 euros in grants for sports clubs

The Pájara City Council has announced competitive grants to promote sports among non-profit collectives, clubs, and sports associations within the municipality. The call, approved by Resolution number 3816/2026, dated September 2, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 107, dated September 7, 2026, and aims to cover expenses incurred between January 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026.

The maximum allocable credit amounts to 250,000 euros, charged to budget application 341 48099 of the General Budget of the Pájara City Council for the 2026 fiscal year. The call is processed under file SUBV/2026/0000025 and is governed by the Regulatory Basis Ordinance published in BOP number 28, dated March 5, 2025, partially modified in BOP number 112, dated September 17, 2025, as well as by Law 1/2019, of January 30, and general grant regulations.

Two lines of aid

The call is structured into two independent lines of action, each with its own scope of competition and assigned credit:

• Line 1. Sports entities and clubs: 210,000 euros, for collectives, clubs, or associations participating in sports competitions, whether federated or not, at an amateur non-professional level, excluding indigenous modalities.
• Line 4. Vernacular sports: 40,000 euros, for clubs and associations established for the practice of indigenous sports.

The same entity may apply for both lines if the Registry of Sports Entities accredits modalities that fit into each, and must separately identify the activities and expenses for each line. Ordinary operating expenses paid between January 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026, justified by invoices and documents of equivalent evidentiary value, will be eligible for subsidies.

Requirements and submission

Beneficiaries may be non-profit collectives, clubs, or sports associations of the municipality of Pájara, legally constituted and registered in the corresponding registries. Applications must be submitted exclusively through the electronic office of the Pájara City Council, within twenty calendar days from the publication of the summary in the BOP, accompanied by the documentation provided for in the Sixth Base of the Ordinance.

The maximum period for resolution and notification will be six months from publication, after which applications will be considered rejected by administrative silence. The instruction corresponds to the Department of Sports and the resolution to the Local Government Board, following a proposal from a collegiate body chaired by the Delegated Councilor for Sports.

Evaluation criteria

The evaluation is carried out by points, with a maximum of 100 per application, based on criteria such as:

• 25 points for each federated club.
• 5 points for each activity other than the main one.
• 2 points for each team in official competition.
• 5 points for every 10 female licenses or federated registrations.
• 10 points for travel between islands or at a national level.
• 1 point for each boy or girl referred by Social Services and admitted by the club.

The value of the point is calculated by dividing the budget of each line by the sum of points obtained by the admitted entities, and the grant for each entity results from multiplying its points by that value, without exceeding the justified expenditure. Unassigned funds are redistributed among the entities that have not reached the maximum grantable amount.

The call, signed by the Head of the Government Area of Culture, Senior Citizens, Personnel and Human Resources, Raquel Acosta Santana, reinforces municipal support for the sporting fabric of southern Fuerteventura, allowing local clubs and associations to finance their ordinary activity and their participation in competitions, with special attention to indigenous sports and the promotion of grassroots sports.
