Osorno la Mayor auctions 7,858 feet of pine in the Otero forest

The City Council of Osorno la Mayor has approved, by Mayoral Resolution dated September 4, 2026, the disposal file for the harvesting of pine timber in the “Otero” public utility forest, which will be awarded via auction to the highest bidder. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Palencia, number 108, dated September 9, 2026, page 30.

The lot consists of 7,858 feet of pine, marked with a blaze and at the root, over an area of 78.5 hectares of public utility forest no. 457 “Otero,” under municipal ownership. The base bidding price is set at 83,604.00 euros (€24.00/m³), with upward bids.

Object and conditions of the tender

The contract is processed through an open procedure and urgent processing, with the most economically advantageous offer (highest price offered) as the sole award criterion. The final award price will include general expenses, taxes, and the processing costs of the file, the latter up to a maximum of 750.00 euros.

Submission of proposals and opening

Offers shall be submitted in two sealed envelopes (accrediting documentation and economic proposal) at the City Council Secretariat, from 9:00 to 14:00 hours, for a period of fifteen calendar days starting from the next business day following the publication of the announcement in the BOP of Palencia, until 14:00 hours.

• Opening of proposals: at the City Council premises, at 10:30 hours, on the first business Thursday following the end of the submission period.
• Form: official, provided at the Secretariat; proposals not submitted using the official form will not be accepted.

Opportunity for the forestry sector

The auction for the timber harvesting of the “Otero” forest joins other forestry tenders published in the same issue of the gazette, such as those from Prádanos de Ojeda (8,112 feet in the “El Carrascal” forest) and the Neighborhood Council of Páramo de Boedo, reflecting an active management of the public utility forests in the province.
