Osakidetza calls for five director positions in the BOPV

Osakidetza-Basque Health Service has published five calls in number 174 of the Official Gazette of the Basque Country (BOPV) on September 11, 2026, to fill vacant management and coordination positions. The calls were signed by the managing directors of the Mental Health Network of Bizkaia (RSMB) and the Barrualde-Galdakao Integrated Health Organization (OSI), and were published with official references 2026/3861, 2026/3862, 2026/3863, 2026/3864, and 2026/3865.

All calls are based on Article 28 of Law 8/1997, of June 26, on the Health Organization of the Basque Country, and Decree 186/2005, of July 19, which regulates functional positions within Osakidetza. One of them will be filled via a competitive process (concurso), and the remaining four via a free appointment (libre designación) process. The deadline for submitting applications, in all cases, is 15 business days, starting from the day following its publication in the BOPV.

Calls for the Mental Health Network

Resolution 2026/3861 (1352/2026, May 15) calls for the position of head of the Mental Health Unit at the Adult Mental Health Centers of Basauri and Galdakao via a competitive process. Applicants must belong to professional group A1, hold a degree or license in Medicine with a specialty in Psychiatry and at least three years of experience, as well as language profile 2. The position will be filled by a temporary appointment for four years, extendable according to Law 8/1997.

Resolution 2026/3864 (1824/2026, August 20) calls for the position of head of the Administration and Management Service in the area of General Services and Economic Management at Zaldibar Hospital, via free appointment. Group A1/A2, four years of experience, and language profile 3 are required. Resolution 2026/3865 (1833/2026, August 26), meanwhile, calls for the position of head of the General Services Group (Maintenance) at Zaldibar Hospital, for employees in group C3/D3, with two years of experience and language profile 2.

Calls for the Barrualde-Galdakao organization

Resolution 2026/3862 (2293/2026, August 12) calls for the position of coordinator of the Central Laboratory Unit of the Barrualde-Galdakao OSI, via free appointment. Professional group B1/C1 and two years of experience are required; experience or training in specialized laboratory technician units and the functional area of the Clinical Laboratory will be valued.

Resolution 2026/3863 (2320/2026, August 18) calls for the position of head of the Administration and Management Service (Maintenance Area) of the Barrualde-Galdakao OSI, via free appointment. Group A1/A2, four years of experience, and language profile 3 are required, and experience in the maintenance of sanitary facilities, management of works, and use of the SAP module will be valued.

Requirements and selection procedure

Applications must be sent to the Personnel Directorate of the corresponding organization: for the RSMB, at María Díaz de Haro 58 in Bilbao, and for the Barrualde-Galdakao OSI, at Labeaga 46A in Usansolo. The documentation must include certified photocopies of the DNI, the appointment, and the qualification, as well as a documented curriculum vitae.

In the selection process, for the competitive call (2026/3861), a public defense of the project memory and an interview will be conducted, and half of the maximum score for appointment must be achieved. In the free appointment calls, however, the evaluation committee will assess the applicants and, if necessary, may request a personal interview. An appeal against the resolutions may be filed before the general director of Osakidetza within a period of one month.

These calls open new opportunities for statutory, civil servant, and permanent labor employees of Osakidetza to fill positions of responsibility in health and management areas, and are a sign of internal promotion within the public organization and the refilling of management positions.
